Always listen with headphones, will pay attention to the lyrics.
I felt the same. The lyrics and songwriting as just as reflective and introspective, but the production is much "smaller" and loose on Part 2. It is definitely two distinct parts of a whole, which isn't quite what I was expecting I guess? It was also jarring to have Polly jump right into Two Dogs like that. Definitely some beautiful songs in the latter half though.
those two exact songs were my faves on Part 2 as well but Part 1 is flawless to me. Gonna have another listen tonight, I can't wait
@chelsea
See what you think of this. Beautiful art pop album.

Sounds better as a complete album, so stunning.
Cut Me is really good. Going to play this in its entirety when I have time today
Sounds really promising
aromanticism was one of the great surprises of 2017 and a favorite album of that year for me. his sophomore album has been one of my most anticipated releases ever since and his potential feels limitless. the new single just makes me feel even more assured in my confidence tbh, he'll start the 2020s with a bang and as of right now i fully expect this to be even better than aromanticism
he f***ing did it
aoty
the whole album comes together pretty well. Not so sure why he waited so long between the releases, was expecting a dramatic change in the sound or something because of it.
part 2 faves so far: Bystanders; Keeps Me Alive; Bless Me; Me in 20 Years
Bless Me might end up as one of my all time favourite songs by him

Think Part 1 is supposed to be the more adventurous artsy tracks & Part 2 is sort of a continuation of Aromanticism with the gorgeous ballads

yea I get Aromanticism vibes from part 2 its so beautiful, if he dropped the whole thing at once I think I'd still have enjoyed it the same tho I guess letting the risky side go first was a good way to test the waters
Either way we got a great follow up Sumney a certified goat now!

But it's not an intro! Haha if it's meant to be listened to in full each time. I think one of those interludes would've worked well right before Two Dogs. The transition from Polly to Two Dogs is quick.
