No actual musicians on stage playing instruments, just one dude surrounded by hype men.
I feel like rap concerts should be more consumed like poetry. Guy does his performance, then answers audience questions on the deeper meaning behind his lyrics, and then they snap their fingers in approval.
There are some exceptions of rappers who shouldnt do it like this but most should.
glow in the dark tour was the peak concert
Why do musicians need to be present? Hip hip was always a DJ (who was featured) and a an emcee (who controlled the crowd)
How does that make no sense?
OP is the reason why I don’t take white people’s opinions on hip hop seriously
probably only thing which bothers me with rap concerts is them using backtracking but its fine

well the problem is most rappers just don't sound good live, so the time they perform songs should be reduced and it should be more focused on lyrics discussion and some finger snapping

He said Rappers should discuss their lyrics with the crowd that‘s like saying the artists should always say the meaning behind their art bruh it‘s either you understand it or not

because over the decades what used to be an artform itself that emcees actually took seriously (performance) has been reduced to young niggas with abnormally horrible stamina (seriously it's scary how bad of breath control some of these new niggas have live.) walking/running around on stage just "rhyming over the words!" jadakiss voice
and also, you can have both. One of the best rap shows I've ever seen was Common and he had live musicians and a dj playing the beat too
