    • When the main character is introduced as a nobody but then turns out to be the son/daughter of a really really important family after all.

Like b**** shut the f*** up

    • Racist/ Homophobic characters that shouldnt be redeemed, being redeemed

    No!!!

    • something super broad but the lack of interesting main characters is pissing me off. Almost every main character is so painfully generic and uninteresting. You can do literally anything but you choose to have the same guy in every series

    1. Game of thrones, most anime, Star Wars, Harry Potter -im missing alot here but

    2. Modern Family, Tarantino Movies and just alot of bullshit movies, Sopranos, shocking amount of sitcoms

    3. i mean theres an entire genre full of antihero tropes like breaking bad, Sopranos, Dexter etc.
Also most action movies have the exact same main character

when the villain is pointing a gun at the hero and doesn't shoot

When the villain who's been efficiently ruthless for like the entire movie, gets to toss the main character around in the final showdown. Wtf, just kill him quick like you did with the rest

Allowing “bad” people to have empathetic qualities and to potentially allow for their redemption with a character arc is just good writing. It’s not a trope. Good art is often honest and nuanced. Painting every character with negative qualities as irredeemable in something that is attempting to be a reflection of reality is simply lazy. I agree with the other two but the last one isn’t really a trope either. Sorry to get semantic.
