bro no one cares about his opinions lol
I’m just letting you know SRS is for his kind lol
It’s trash but the good kind
I turned it on just looking for some chewing gum trash but found it to be really entertaining
Euphoria is more entertaining than good if that makes any sense. So entertaining in fact that it fools people into thinking it's a masterpiece

Yeah it's the visuals and style that makes it fun. The story is usual teen bullshit but the packaging is high quality.
It's like Belly

It’s what the directors are kind of known for
It's adorable to me that people think literature is above songwriting in terms of required skill. Being a master of songwriting takes infinitely more skill than being a master of novelized prose.

nah i’d say there’s much more difficulty in writing a book than a song tbh.
this no nut nov got me in sandals rn ngl
I'm glad I never had an addiction to p*** and s***.

Facts Lil Pump yelled Gucci Gang and got a top a nigga mever just wrote the word "the" over and over and got a number 1 NY times bestseller
you can be a dogshit songwriter but get carried by prod or other facets of music, writing a book it’s solely constituted of your prose and how it fits into the constraints of a language. and you have to keep that readers attention throughout the whole book, weaving a story solely through words, s*** is an art

and tbh, that extremely lyrical dense s*** ppl like aesop rock be on that s*** belongs in a book
people like to think through lyrics and catch them, but not to the point where it’s esoteric and you have to pick apart every single line, reference, obscure slang etc. but it’s different strokes, he obviously has an audience of some sort that prides themselves on that s***

There are very few songwriters that are descriptive like authors. Let's be real here.

Here's where it gets iffy tho
Prose (even taking into account the structures and limitations of novelization) stems from how we communicate irl. We have an innate understanding of it for the most part, even if we aren't as technically proficient as a Stephen King or Ray Bradbury.
Songwriting on the other hand is taking the poetic form (which in itself is limiting to how we communicate irl) and music theory (which is limiting to words period) and mixing the two to be satisfying.
So essentially, making something as juvenile and lacking in substance as repeating Gucci Gang a million times work for millions of people is (theoretically) more difficult than JK Rowling's last chapter of the Deathly Hallows
Hell even with storytelling only like nas em biggie really write stories that come off like books.

That's true but I'm not necessarily equating the two stylistically

I agree but writing is writing. Authors are forced to display everything a good artist is supposed to do. Tone, imagery, language, cohesion, clarity, and etc. You can be a good artist and not do this. You cant be a good writer and not do this.

That's true
But does the importance of flow/melody and riding a beat well (for all genres) put a monkey wrench in the whole thing?
