YANDHII don't buy this. She's been indicted alongside Maduro for the last 5+ years in the same case. Washington has consistently argued Flores as a primary player in the d*** ring they're accused of.
She's a former President of the National Assembly and Chavez's final Attorney General. A significant Venezuelan political figure with the ability to rally, be defiant and wield power. You can't leave her.
With such a precise and quick operation (to capture both), how could she interfere with troops, let alone make demands of them
understanding this just increases the veracity of the narrative that she and everyone under Maduro chose to sell him out to maintain national stability in exchange for a market reorientation. they might not even need to welcome a US troop presence
it was never about illiberal dictatorships and oppression. it was about resources

The only figures amongst the closest circle who haven't had U.S. indictments despite their clear roles in the regime are (totally not suspiciously) the Rodriguez siblings, one of which is now the interim President.
Every side seems to have argued for her whether its Qatar (royal fam connects + accounts), UAE, CIA and White House. Whether she actually follows instructions is another story but wiping out both Maduro and Flores opens the path for her without a fight or concern of outside influence.

He only mentions oil because that's all he's been told. Rubio's been in Trump's ear influencing Venezuelan policy since 2017/2018. I don't think he has any other incentive to care unless he was convinced about energy first.
Now, Rubio's already got what he wanted and will move on to the next thing
