What is this spineless f***shit smh
and hoenstly, russia being on its way out and china intentionally fighting for second place to the US means selling out is the pragmatic choice
but they didn't sell out Maduro and there's nothing to indicate that they did so why are we making that assumption other than to promote cynicism? Delcy is still standing by Maduro. Maduro and his government were fully aware that the US would keep escalating things - meaning they knew there was a high chance Maduro could either be taken out or get snatched up. The Venezuelan government would've had him step down as a president if they knew getting Maduro out would de-escalate things but that's not the goal with the US. Trump is now out to get Delcy for being such a staunch loyalist and radical socialist - there is no deal that can be made to de-escalate things. He's threatened to go in and bomb the country again.
So I think it's highly unlikely that Delcy sold Maduro out. Maybe other people within the government and military did - there's plenty of traitors, but I don't buy this story with Delcy. It's coming from leftist cynics who don't know anything about the Venezuelan government.
Trump is smart tho, he might have not been able to overthrow Venezuela overnight as planned but this is sending a direct message to every sovereign country that refuses to only serve the interests of US corporations. It's either get in line or get f***ed.

You’re drinking the kool aid here falling for the short term positive spin all U.S. actions and adventures come with. Its a facade.
The refusal to remove the actual regime doesn't send strong messaging. Also risks Venezuelan government simply bidding their time as they follow some instructions, but still consolidate long term power. Will the admin even care about this when the next war/country, distraction or election hits? None of this is new for LatAm.
Also these aren't companies interests, they're just Trump's interests, who was persuaded to do all of this on the promise of a future of cashing in on oil. Trump already has to strong arm companies to invest because no one in their right mind wants to spend tens or hundreds of billions building up Venezuela's oil sector just for it to be renationalized again later on, or not even benefit from the oil.

most of them are diaspora of liberal academics who pine for the shah
so yeah they're personally intelligent and yeah their intense, idealist liberalisms would leave idiots like you wetting your pants
however, they're also generally highly anti-democratic, islamophobic, racist, zionist, classist and irridentist, and you fail to see past their highly aestheticized demeanor
They don't wet my pants. And I don't know if all those in the diaspora are all those isms and phobes, that you say
I wonder, if you say this about a huge group of people, what does that make you?
