I dont give af about you clearing your IG, make everything one colour, wear clown costumes. in 99% of the case its just an aesthetic with 0 meaning towards the actual music.
Its been ran through.
Drop a song make it good, let the music do the talking
Every artist thinking theyre slick and important enough when they just abuse the parasocial relationship with their fans. You not doing an artistic expression you paint your hair
so it’s over?
Star power has always been a thing
Michael Jackson is the perfect example, if he wasn’t himself (style wise) he wouldn’t have popped like he did
the mysterious thing is being done so much that there’s no more mystery
& 9/10 of mysterious s*** has no meaning, being mysterious should be conceptual not just aesthetic imo
I feel u this s*** try hard
getting this mad over benign s*** like this. crine
Yeah lets just eat dirt or something and never care about anything in life thats so much cooler
getting this mad over benign s*** like this. crine
Avi to post lmaoooo
y'all gotta just start screenshotting your favorite artists' posts you don't wanna lose or something cause...
facts, it feels like labels and artists forget that what made album "eras" so special in the past (thriller era, purple rain era, sgt peppers era, mbdtf era etc) was that the image/visuals were accompaniments to the music and aided it.
Most of those classics eras became classic "eras" because when you stripped it away to nothing but the album and music it was still an incredible feat
I partially agree. Music eras NOW are s*** but if you're saying all music eras the hell nah. It's fun af to go back in time and look through MJ or Madonna era's and see them grow. All the interviews, outfits, artwork, music videos, the whole rollout used to be a movie. That's half the fun in going through their discography and you're missing out if you don't get the full context
Now tho, completely ass cheeks. IG wipes are lame, retroactively using past eras as a crutch for nostalgia is wack (Taylor) none of the art matches or has any direction because it's all tremd of the week, tiktok campaigns with forced pandering singles is s***
The last true modern day "era" that felt like a movie was 2014-2016 Views From The 6 rollout. I was glued to Drake and OVO pages for the slightest hint at what was next. Every feature was a hit, every loosie was better than the next. That was monumental and no other artist has captured the magic since, Drake still felt organic back then
I don't think he'd be able to drop any album before Cherry Bomb. Lol
Wolf would probably have been bigger if he dropped it later in the streaming era imo
