Tyler and Kendrick are also artists who are great at creating a specific feel for their different eras, and I always the appreciate the extra work effort they put in to each of their eras

Being mysterious doesn't work anymore because back in the day when Prince was hiding in a forest you couldn't see him walking around LA coming out of Dave's Hit Chicken on TMZ or posting cryptic emojis at 3AM. When he was gone he was gone and you had to wait, excitement built up because he was hard at work

And also there was less artists to take away your attention. When one of these opium clones or R&B niggas act "mysterious" you got 50 other artists that do the same thing to take their place. You got to be Prince level to be mysterious, like Frank is.

I think The Weeknd is still doing eras pretty well. I do agree that the Views build up was iconic and it was Drake at his absolute best. It’s unfortunate that the album did not reflect that at all.
