listen young bucks, get educated before yall bash the very civilization yall living in while typing on the technology that was created by western civilization

just picked up a second hand patagonia fleece from the thrift yesterday, only s*** hitting the landfills in the future is fubu and lil nas x records

living in the best period of time, progress comes with sacrifice, we'll adapt and overcome as we always do since we're beings able to grasp onto that thought

i also like my home theater that i just built and streaming content is wack, discs offer the best quality audio and visuals

some of yall like to just consume content on phones or laptops whereas others like to experience art at the highest level

People said this during covid. Stop the fear mongering. Truth is consumers are a lot more stingy with their money but trust and believe they're still dropping money. Look at the eras tour or beyonce tour. Look at barbie and Oppenheimer. Truth is if you got a s***ty product eventually it will catch up to you. Going "viral" doesn't mean s*** anymore

art is inherently not necessary to our survival

I VEHEMENTLY disagree with this @browser as art is universal + doesnt exactly need an industry for it to exist.

The means of mass production for said art humanity doesn’t inherently need but art itself will always be needed for survival. It’s one of the things that separates us from other animals the ability to create art.

I see what you mean but I mean that as inflation hits and we enter a time where basic necessities rise to higher prices than ever before, paying for Apple Music or 4 streaming services is low on the list of priorities, the average person is gonna be forced to be at a point where they can’t give a f*** about consuming media at all let alone how much rappers producers and actors get paid

But also in the sense that art as we knew it where you only even know of certain things because a corporation put it on tv or put money behind it

For example I was thinking on some unrelated s*** few days ago how many universally classic albums come from a major label vs things like madvillain or whatnot being fewer and farther between

the major media corporation landscape we got used to is dying and we took for granted how that really isn’t something that has to exist for better or worse. Again, I’m saying this thinking of the idea that most of the s*** we consider “classic” in music and film is only known because it had major distribution or funding

I guess the answer/equalizer will be that now making and putting out media is easier than ever before but it’s also like even in that, there’s the same concepts that keep unique innovative people unrewarded by the algorithm a La the music industry

they greenlited a bunch of shows in the past years because of streaming, but this model of streaming is not profitable like that. they just cancel everything that is not popular enough

“journalists losing their jobs” no one cares

get over physical media. the world changed.

the journalists part is important tho

Whether in xxl source type magazines or fader pitchfork type articles they contributed world building to these artists

But you don’t know what you got till it’s gone lol

They also aren't based on 2 quarters being in the negative either. It's declared by a committee. It is very much vibes and cope. Just as much as unemployment being used as an indicator of everything is fine

Lmaoo why are y’all so quick to say wild things like this on here that you wouldn’t say face to face over literally nothing. Calm down man lol

You think they need to have a Spotify ad in the middle of a verse for there to be ads in songs (as opposed to the promotion of select designer brands and pharmaceutical brands in songs that’s been taking place for decades)?

And you’re calling me the f***ing idiot lol
