Do you stream out of curiosity?

Not trying to be a smartass

    I do not

I don’t want to run this risk of seeing music differently than an amazing art form. I love it too much

You think streaming will warp your perception of music as some sort of disposable auditory substance?

Honestly, streaming to me is kind of like torrenting, but more convenient & legal. At least the artist in streaming formats get some sort of revenue. Things were wayy different back in the early 2000s to mid 2010s

When I say music sucks now, I'm speaking generally. Of course there's good music out there. We just spent the last two months feasting during the beef.

My main point is, what effect does streaming have on music quality, if any? If we mainly interact with music via streaming, what does that do to the artistry?

Streaming was inevitable. When sharing files became as easy it did it was only a matter of time until the labels were forced to co opt the Napster model with the compromise being that it’s easier than doing it yourself since all it took was implementing into the already established iTunes infrastructure. Same with tv and movies

Yup, you just ironically expounded on my lazily convenient and generic point. Good teamwork though brother

i feel like mainstream music maybe...but I've been going to a lot of shows by lowkey artists who make really amazing music and they sellin out the venue and the crowd knows their catalog word for word. so i feel like it just depends on what you're paying attention to

    Music is amazing

  • no get a job

    its YOUR fault

  • Yes, we are too conformist listening to bullshit rap music that it’s getting bumped everywhere

  • Jun 23, 2024

People that always say this s*** always sleeping on some heat. I be having the opposite problem that there is just too much good music dropping every single week and I can’t keep up. They be albums I love that I only listened to twice because there’s other albums that’s vying for my attention

Slums, MIKE, MAVI, Slauson Malone, Pink Safuu, Navy Blue and that whole scene is some of my favourite hip hop ever. You should check out the thread for it! Lots of artists, all of it excellent.

I think participating in art should require some sacrifice. So I purchase all my stuff. And sit with albums for a long time.

  • Jun 23, 2024
