Kendrick Lamar has made some of the best albums of any genre every made. If he released music more often the quality would most likely go down.
Drake could learn a lesson from him. Sure you get the sales constantly but the legacy gets ruined.
Drake’s best album is still Take Care, that should tell you something right there.
Kendrick Lamar has not done that no
This isn’t pitchfork or hotnewhiphop

Again, if you love your craft you’d release as often as possible
and MIA was his first (and still his only) top 10 hit as a lead artist and it was the first Latin song to reach #1 on AM back in 2018. Drizzy stimulus did wonders for him back then.
Mia was #1 in latin BBs for months. Went both ways tbh
Lmaoo never stop making me proud
So out of touch man

If you're an artist who loves their craft you absolutely should not release as often as possible what???
If you love your craft you want to sit and spend time making sure it's the best possible version of what you want to give your fans...that's how true artists work.
Dr Luke raped a girl and got a number one hit again

Huh?
If you love your craft you absolutely would not be able to not release ANYTHING for 3+ years
Drake been feeding quality music with no 3+ year breaks for more than a decade
It’s levels
Anyway don’t want to discuss some ghost rapper like Kendrick anyway so let’s move on

That’s not true at all. Stop being a Stan. If you love your craft you make quality music. That’s what Kendrick does.
Drake has never released a project as good as GKMC or Damn and probably nothing better then Section.80 either.
Kendrick takes time to craft masterpieces. Drake dumps out album halfway full of filler.

I can tell you aren't a creative and that's okay
I enjoyed Scorpion but you’re lying if you say it wouldn’t be better if he took longer time on it.
Kendrick Career Trajectory: Let’s Discuss

Drops OD (fire, starts gaining traction getting people attention)
Drops Section.80 (fire, now he really poppin we ready for the debut excited af)
Drops GKMC (classic, it’s outta here, got the drake feat and everything, he’s up next if he continues, mind you section 80 and GKMC are released within 1.5 years)
Then when world needs him most he vanishes like the avatar
Comes back 3 years later with TPAB (generally unlistenable no matter how many intellectual words you want to use)
Year later he follows it up with untitled unmastered (won’t even speak on this cuz it speaks for itself)
After he realizes he’s murdered his fan base, starts doing random horrendous pop collabs and songs
Year later comes with meh attempt at a pop crossover album DAMN where he tells people be humble and sit down
Vanishes again afterwards for nearly 3 years
He’s regarded as the end all for rap but I just don’t see it with this timeline. What am I missing?
If you truly loved your craft a time limit doesn't exist because the only thing that matters is your craft
blocking some users would make this thread better but I would miss out on a lot of good content

Great link to great post
Dudes saying you need lots of time to release good projects
Section 80 and GKMC time gap was like 1 year haha
But let’s take 3 years to release DAMN!
There is a difference between a Dr. DRE and Jay Elec and someone who takes 4 years to craft their album to the best it can be.

Lol nah it’s actually pretty well accepted that Kendrick’s 3 major label albums are great albums even outside of Hip Hop. TPAB was cited as influencing iconic musicians like David Bowie and Prince, Damn won a Pulitzer Prize. Just look at some lists of best albums across all genres of the 2010’s and see how high his albums rank there. TPAB especially gets ranked top 5 consistently.
