And no one wants to hear you Stan drake but you’ve been in this thread all day long doing it.

It's a sales thread and Drake debuted an album and tied a record.

Kendrick's name shouldn't even be mentioned in here until he actually drops music

    yes it is

that song has no hit qualities & it’s still charting high

That just means they bought the #1 lol
It had one of the biggest drops from #1 in chart history
    It’s not good

If it’s still charting there in two weeks that’s good

He was the one who bought up Kendrick in the first place though

Edit: A different Drake Stan did

    But Drake stans started it

Kendrick dropping OD/Section 80/GKMC in back to back to back years proves you don't need 15 years to make a good album. He's taking as long as he takes because he's lazy. That's all.

Also for people who don’t like drake

You’re gonna have to accept that this thread will have a lot of drake discussion

He’s probably the biggest rapper of all time sales wise so yes he’s gonna be discussed here and largely it will be positive

If y’all are angry about that bring other interesting topics related to sales to discuss

Geniunely curious and not trying to start a war but how does his lifetime numbers compare to Eminem?

Exactly. Jay Z dropped every year from 1996-2003 and a lot of those albums are regarded as classics. Drake's run from 2009-2015 is damn near flawless. Classic mixtapes, classic albums and A LOT of classic songs in that time frame. I'll never believe artists need 5 years to make a 12 track album.

    That run was not flawless

I can even make a case for Cole. Dropped 2 classic mixtapes in 2009 and in 2010.

Nobody is saying artists need 5 years.

3 years is long enough but if you need time to make your best album possible then take 3 years.

Drake’s quality Has dipped and it’s largely because of yearsly releases with filler songs instead of fine tuning his craft.

It’s hard to say because sales have changed and there any great sales figures

Wikipedia says Eminem has sold around 220m albums vs Drakes 150m

That being said it also says Em has 235m certified units while drake has 315m

What I would say is Eminem has higher first weeks (not super relevant given the differences), Eminem has a higher peak album wise, Drake has more hits, Drake has a longer run at being the biggest

Album sales overall are a toss up but given that Em has 10 years on Drake Drake will likely end up winning there
