Don’t you hate debating music with regular people? I call’em consumers. I think I’m ready to admit that I have an elitist attitude when it comes to music. Call it pompous or whatever the f*** else, but it’s true and I think most musicians, vocalists, composer, writers and other musical creatives are arrogant as hell and believe we’re the best at what we do.. but our audience, y’all consumers respond negatively to that s*** or any outward expression of confidence, so we gotta feign humility.

If I tell you, your vocals need work or your bars corny/uninspired, then believe that s***. If I tell you your chord patches muddy or that you shouldn’t add 9ths and 13ths to your progressions cause you trying to be impressive, then understand that your goofy ass ain as nice as you think you are and u overcooking the melody.

i don't think every musical creative is as arrogant as you tbh dude. it's not uncommon, but i think a lot of great musicians don't even care about the audience. although yes, there is a lot of consumers, you can't discredit every non musician as purely a consumer... thats just not fair to the millions who really do love this s***.

i agree with the sentiment about "muddy chord patches" 9ths and 13ths that don't resolve to anything, serve no melodic purpose, etc etc. that s*** pisses me off to no end. idc if u think u better than me bc u worked with so and so, got this deal, played that venue. im calling it like it is every time.

I never implied I project these notions on to other people. I mostly keep my comments to myself unless asked directly. I’m polite, neither agree or disagree and just sort of nod and smile when I realize ppl talking out their ass (especially when it comes objective sentiments).. I moreso act as mediator or assist ppl with fleshing out their own thoughts

Based on conversations we’ve had in the past We don’t really give off this type of energy to others.. it’s more of an internal thing. I jus think it’s something we as l creatives deal with in secret.. balancing the line of humility/gratitude for your gifts and talents and imposing your ideas and perceived superiority onto others because u think u better and therefore u know what’s best. That s*** is real and ppl ain honest with themselves about it.
