"Construction outside
Woke us up 'bout fifteen times
You took the gun and shot it at the sky
To trade this bullet for a new life"
the imagery on these songs are too good man
"I'm leaving Toronto
It has nothing left to give me, I held it all, all"
From his interviews, he reallyyy hates Toronto, can't blame him when all his people are dying there.
"And if they ever kill me
Make sure they bury me next to my brother
Make sure my killer has money for a lawyer"
"Nouri
I lost my ground when I think about you passing
Umi
How have you have found my lungs without me asking?"
this part cuts
Grown man tears listening to the cords on Imaan and Gaza is calling, grown man tears hearing the Smoke dawg adlibs on Leaving Toronto, smile on my face hearing Clairo and Snoh's voices. Mustafa I THANK YOU, I know when an album will stick with me through time and this one is ticking all the boxes.
muslim folk music
This Old life beat
muslim folk music
Arabic folks music man I swear those cords are giving me goosebumps
Definitely some beautiful songs on here. I'll go anywhere and Hope is a knife are standouts. Still, I find his music front to back too one-note to listen through. I need some high energy mixed in. Is it haram to go to the club?
didn't listen to the single, so finding out SNL stands for Street Nigga Lullaby after all this time.

Bro really my hero
Im a civilian (ofc) but as someone who’s stepped foot in most neighborhoods in Toronto from high to low, I’m not even prepared for how this album is going to make me feel at my big man age now
mustafa has a beautiful way of making people who go thru real life feel seen in a very 3 dimensional way and obviously speaks to an underserved audience in mainstream media
Really thankful for his output
