Future was amazing on N 2 Deep
Lol y’all misconstruing what I’m saying!
I love the song and future did go great, I’m talking about as a WHOLE, as an album, it’s out of place.
fair trade beat change is so unnecessary
travis could’ve rapped over the first beat
🎯🎯🎯
😂😂 to each their own. You listen to leaks like they’re official releases then get mad at the finished product…Make it make sense….
The Hov verse makes it that much better
N too deep second half with Fewtch is vibe.
I can say s*** too but that doesn’t mean it’s right or wrong. The only thing actually wrong is u getting mad at a song u were never supposed to hear until it came out.
I disagree for the most part, I think the features all work pretty organically
However, I am 100% with you in regards to Knife Talk - that track is so clearly a product of Savage Mode II sessions it doesn't justify an appearance on this album
Fountains is weak on both accounts, Tems & Drake don't push it with any momentum
I strongly disagree about IMY2 though, I love it. It doesn't feel like a Drake track, but nor does it feel like a full-on Cudi track, for me, it strikes a cohesive balance between their two respective sounds and introduces something new to the album's soundscape
That’s fair. Thanks for your feedback!
To each their own. Like I said, aside from a couple features, I don’t have issues with the songs individually. Overall, imo these features feel drastically different than his features on previous albums.

I never said anything was right or wrong, just giving my opinion. I’m also not “mad” about anything lol?

I think that's why I like it though. . . As you say, his use of features here feels different in comparison to his other work
I'll probably get crucified for this, but, I'm seeing slight parallels between this and a Travis album, specifically Astroworld. And I mean that only in regards to the incorporation of features, nothing else. But much like Travis does really well, on this album (for me) Drake has curated the features really well and they seem organic, even if at times, they may renegade Drake, his directorial presence as the album's main persona never gets obscured
Agree 100%
These are the weakest features he’s ever had on a project.
Baby’s verse ruined Girls
Need me outro>Jay Z verse
He should’ve added another verse/outro instead of Travis Scott and Thugga features
Only worthwhile features are 21, Future, Cudi and Wayne and even then none of them are memorable features like he’s had in the past
Totally agree. I was so hyped to see Fair Trade on the album, then was massively disappointed after seeing Travis as a feature. This album was not cohesive at all. Total mess

Ross is a Top 3 feature on this tbh
I can kinda see that. I don’t think it’s inherently a bad thing tho
Naw especially since it’s way more drake on this project to enjoy . It’s cool to enjoy the tone shift , especially since it’s only a handful of tracks

Yeah. A total mess is exactly how I feel.
Fair Trade beat switch was super unnecessary… which kinda brings me to my second overall issue with the album…
That all the songs feel so bloated because they either had features added to them, unnecessary beat switches, or skits.
Only THREE songs on the album were under 3:20 long. 😬

Word. Totally agree with the beat switches. TSU beat switch was unnecessary as well. The minute long intro to TSU was also a waste of time, I always skip it. I like beat switches that have what feels like an organic transition, like the ones on Tuscan Leather, or Star 67. These all feel so forced.

Agreed! I love beat switches too, but none of these landed for me
Pretty much agree with everything you said. Most of the songs with features Drake adds nothing to them and they feel like him featuring on the other artists songs instead of the other way around which ironically is what he is known to do to other people so that's already hugely disappointing that he is letting that happen to him on his own album.
Every project post IYRTITL has a had creative choices that have missed the mark. There were a couple on Views and More Life but on Scorpion and CLB there are way too many.
Ways to fix CLB and turn it into a classic:
Overall I wish he had more to say. I remember I time he said if the words he says don't make people feel things like they used he'd retire. They haven't for years and he still going because people nowadays don't care about that anymore and only care if something slaps or not.
It's just another messy Drake album. Like ya said no cohesion, concept, purpose or anything just same old same old and if he was going to do that at least make the songs high quality. But nah we get s*** like Girls Want Girls and Way 2 Sexy. All this album proved was that he is as corny as everyone says he is and he puts mid like everyone says he does. Was hoping he'd prove everyone wrong but he just proved them right.

Remove In The Bible & N 2 Deep
But KEEP Knife & Fountains
Ya'll crazy
The only problems I have with the album is that I dont feel the song with Ty Dolla was good enough to put on here and love all outro. Other than that its plenty good music. Still need A LOT more time to digest

Ya'll crazy
should be the opposite lmaoo
As of right now I can say there are 13/21 tracks I will for sure be coming back to on a regular basis. Still deciding how I feel about the album as a whole though. It’s too soon for me to really determine anything it’s a lot of f***ing songs
Bro you made your points and there’s like 30 threads like this.. you don’t like it.. we do.. nothing really to constructively discuss.. it’s a music forum not the continental congress 😂
