DAVIDPCrazy how these f***ing Generation X'ers turned out to be such f***ing pieces of s*** the last year.
Not even Baby Boomers are this bad. At least they are accepting of progressive ideas even if they are trump supporters
So blessed that my dad and uncle (45 and 42) are left leaning. I couldn’t imagine dealing with this s*** everyday

poopEver since the 2020 election, my dad has gotten 10x crazier. Nowadays, all he does is watch newsmax, OANN and ben shapiro. When he talks to me, its always about the deep state and how Trump won the election. The other day he mentioned that Nancy Pelosi hasn't shown herself for two days and she got arrested (the two days were Saturday/Sunday...). He hates NFL and NBA players for kneeing, yet he begs my brother and I to find him a stream for his football team. I ask my dad some far out conspiracy things and he says "could be true" and then if I ask him if Trump lost he says "no way". He believes that ANTIFA and BLM coordinated the attack on the capital. When I ask him for proof, he shows me some Facebook meme/post. When I call him out on how that's not a reliable source and show him news that contradicts the facebook things, he says fake news and the media lies. At this point I can't change his mind about anything.
He's also racist, but does not believe it. Won't say Black Lives Matter, only All Lives Matter. We had a debate a couple of months back about why education in the south is rank near the bottom and he said "the majority of them are black". He also says "the majority of black people are criminals". He's very upset that Trump got banned from Twitter as "its violates the first amendment" and then says we won't be able to go on the corner to yell "N*" anymore or else we'll get arrested. Yesterday, he went on a rant about how he can't respect black people since they sag their pants. When I tell him that these are racist statements, he responds by saying "you democrats always put people into these position and labeling, you're the racist one". He calls me racist because I am not dating a black women and says "all you do is knee in front of them when you see them".
I'm so sick and tired of this. I want my old dad back where he'd tell jokes, mess around, and generally a fun person to be around. He's very bitter and angry these days and always spewing about conspiracy theories. I've been living at home since my work is remote and saving money for a house. But, I'm ready to say f*** it, delay buying a house for a couple more years, and move out. I don't think I can't take this much longer, I see myself being more short-tempered and aggressive. It's not worth my mental health to be in a hostile environment.
Anyone else have to deal with this?

I feel like in the last few politics became so overwhelming for older people due to the technological progress. ppl seriously dont realize that funny pictures may have some sort of agenda behind them, falling into the pipeline exactly as somebody described earlier
I want to think that aside form genuinely scummy people there are some that are majorly confused, especially if they never gave what's occurring any mind in their life before and now it just comes back to them

I’d feel terrible about it if I was in his shoes of course but people need to be put in their place, hopefully he didn’t put his hands on his wife ever again. As far as op’s situation it probably wouldn’t be a great idea since he lives under his roof but his dad needs to get yelled at and shown his bullshit is unacceptable

I’ve got a 0 tolerance policy for hate I come from a very diverse home. Some people don't learn from words, gotta smack em up and show em there’s consequences for the bullshit they spew

Having zero tolerance for something doesn't make you better than the other one.
It's just turning you into a extremist version of yourself.Will make you deal with anger and more hate in your life.
Accept the things that you can't changed by changing how you react to those things.
