"Before his career really took off"
??? This was 2015. His breakout single Chillin' came out in 2009. The MMG era was 2010-2014. Wale had arguably already peaked at this point.

Also why shouldn't he have put it on a mixtape? It's not hit material. It's not even a particularly good song. Wale didn't miss out on anything. Compare w/ Jukebox Joints from the same period, a song Kanye passed over to Rocky, with a similar lack of effort on Kanye's part. Rocky put it on his album, gave it a video, and it barely charted.

jukebox joints is a timeless classic i fear

I wanna say Future but I won is out there despite being f***ing awful.

I Won slander won't be tolerated.

Keep It Burnin on Future's last record. Donda 2 technically dropped on Ye's stem player. "Dead" with Durk is out there could be on Vultures LP2 or 3... oh and Future wrote Drunk in Love, and Ye got on the remix

I don't trust the judgement of someone who thinks Wale was still an up-and-coming artist in 2015.

donald glover the most shocking one

was always crazy to me that kanye didn’t acknowledge him until he did a sketch about him on SNL. i think if that this is america era happened a couple years earlier, he absolutely would have been on the life of pablo

looking for trouble is a great song but i’m shocked kanye didn’t put j cole on another song since then to create a similar moment. i feel the same way with kendrick. glad he made dope songs with both of them but i would have liked to see more collaboration

this thread is making me think about all the people you’d think kanye hasn’t worked with, but he has and the song just escaped our memories lmao. looking through the thread i’m realizing he really worked with most rappers you’d think he should have worked with

the story about their collab is wild

ye gave a verse and wanted to shoot music video he was geeked

wale submitted his album and decided to release the feature on his mixtape

talk about fumbling record and relationship

to add to the joke that was the first time ty and ye were on record together. bro had a vultures collab a decade ago

ty was on awesome, only one and fourfiveseconds before this came out bro, and kanye was on his debut album that came out right after this, they prolly recorded that way earlier in the year

no one ever says it but i always give kanye credit for really being the first to utilize ty in the way that entire industry went on to utilize him

  • I think these two would have oddly complimented each other. Both have cynical senses of humor.

I know there’s rumored studio sessions

He doesn't like J. Cole a whole lot obviously. Cole was dissing him in that false prophets song which probably rubbed him the wrong way.

Ye also dissed him in one of the Yandhi freestyles:

'Yeah Ye cold, but that Trump hat forced me to feel like I like J Cole'

Cole didn’t diss him, he literally did what Kanye asked him to do lmfaoo. I think they been on good terms since cause Ye loves mentioning people he has a problem with

Those are very obvious disses. Even on the early version of What Would Meek Do, he referenced it:

    'I’m too complex for ComplexCon
You heard Cole on that song, he was tryna hate'

    youtu.be/u9bMWnueBpU?si=l7d1u20VclMMP-mF

Then obviously those Ye lines on that Yandhi song I mentioned earlier.

But yeah I don't think he cares that much anymore, he would have mentioned him in his rants like he does Jay-Z, Pusha and Drake.
