I can’t name an album I didn’t like that had an intro that was outright bad. Maybe a song that wasn’t my favorite off the project or a skit that I skip but none that are absolute trash idk
Honestly Nevermind. Close to a classic album for me but Falling Back is one of the worst songs I've ever heard
Why does everyone hate this song so much lol

Sounds like a demo track especially Ye's vocals
I'm convinced that Ye must have said to Chance "if you're on my album's opening track then I wanna be on yours" and bullied him to put it first
it was part of the build up and hype of good ass job before chance got publicly punk'd by kanye

It's the abhorrent vocals for me (just on this particular song, his vocals are usually good). Listening to him repeatedly singing ''falling back on me'' for 2 minutes with those vocals is just straight up painful

its also a low par song in comparison to literally everything else - its the weakest link & it has a possibility to ruin the project for someone by starting off on a bad foot
outside the 1st track which is bad and the last track which doesnt fit with the album (i understand the context of the last track but just talking within the project itself) its one of Drake's best projects - and to me one of my favs period
people cry about drake wanting him to do music just for music sake, well imo HNM is that - no drama, no sales tactics, no fluff & no trends its just pure music & his ovo radio talk leading up to the album the night of release amplifies that sentiment even more
need more dance drake, need hnm part 2
falling back imo would have less offensive if it was a middle of the project track instead of the literal intro & first impression

Imagine A Keeper as the intro. I would like that

Spot on, completely agree. I actually do think it's so underrated because the casuals stopped listening after hearing that song. Because I can't understand how anyone could listen to Texts go green, Flights booked, Liability, Massive, Sticky etc. and still think it's not a great album. As you said, this is pure music.
4th best Drake project for me and could move eventually go 3rd.

Can't see it taking any of the top 3 or even Views but it is great
Always thought that Pre was an underwhelming way to start Doris, especially when the run from Burgundy to Chum was so fantastic.
Sb2h
Imagine A Keeper as the intro. I would like that
Imagine if Massive was the first thing you heard on the album
That ominous, minimalist intro
"I've been alone with my thoughts... can't fill this void between us"
And then the beat drops a few measures later, giving us something really fresh for Drake
Would have been one of his very best album openers

Would be very bold to do this

Dark song lowkey
Calling for me shouldn't not have been there too, sticky and a keeper to be singles would have been dope

I always felt like the opposite lowkey but it could be either
I always saw it as Kanye was supposed to do way more on the song but ghosted it but Chance was like f*** it at least we got a Ye feature
