I was a Future fan before the hype behind his run
He was in a completely different bag on Monster no cap
When it dropped one of my friends who’s a huge Future fan came to kick it and was hella excited. Came through the door like “Have y’all heard that new Future???”
It had real impact among fans first. It started hitting everybody else when it was clear he was on a run. It’s not just white boys hyping that s*** trust me
That’s my favorite Future project hands down. S*** get me charged up. Def a moment in music history bruh

It definitely belongs in the argument for top5 but I’ve never really understood it being called the best Future tape by far etc

I think that added to it
There were fans that felt that missing from his music at the time and you had newer fans that hadn’t really heard him in that element on a whole project
That ATL wave with 808 Mafia and Metro was starting to buzz too and they delivered man. Future showed out on some of they hardest beats

Monster was the og template for everything he did afterwards and it was the best version of that sound imo. Not only that but he went mainstream for awhile so it was nice to hear some bangers from him again. Even fun s*** like Commas was a good street single
Project had the perfect amount of songs
It’s one of those tapes that showcases his talents fr. A good mix of introspective s*** and hard s***. He’s had higher highs on other projects but in terms of overall quality I feel like Monster had the perfect balance

Yeah it makes sense. I kinda hate how a lot of newer Future fans kinda tend to ignore all his pre-Monster s*** though lol, but it also shows the significance of that project.
