No it's not, he focused way too hard on celebrities and people with power rather than the common person which like with everything gets everything worse. Two examples of this are Monica Lewinsky and the woman who had to sue her son in order to pay for her medical bills through insurance and was slandered throughout the media.

This thread is about celebrities and he explicitly said in the video that it's not fair to pile on average citizens thrust into media coverage. That's just not how the term is often used because cases of it are less common.

They are not as uncommon as you think it is since the advent of social media. People are doxxed on a regular basis from serious s*** like potentially being a racist to small s*** like stanning the wrong person. As that being said, Keri Hilson career was destroyed by Beyonce stans. You also have people who were rightfully cancelled like Shane Gillis, Kevin Spacey, Pistorus, R Kelly (granted after years), Woody Allen, Don Cherry. Although I'll agree it's not effective as people make it out to be, that doesn't mean it's not real.
