Wasn't interested in the Boruto manga so I stopped reading it a couple years ago but I recently decided to get caught up with it after I watched Naruto again
Turns out I stopped reading right before the Kawaki arc which is where all the interesting stuff starts happening mainly thanks to Kawaki who's now one of my favorite characters in both series
glad I decided to pick it up again
People so mad their favorite characters gotta go like
Itachi gone, jiraiya gone, obito gone, if those characters can croak you can be damn f***in sure sasuke and naruto aren’t exempt
And don’t forget they went against an enemy stronger than kaguya 🤷🏼♀️
people are shortsighted imo
Naruto and Sasuke are like my favorite characters ever but I'll be glad if they died because it will mean character development for Boruto, Kawaki, and Sarada the same way Jiraiya and Itachi dying meant development for Naruto and Sasuke
Naruto and Sasuke's story is over now and if I wanted to see more of them i'd just watch Naruto again

Yeah, I’m glad boruto gonna provide overall closure for the entire series, I’m almost positive it’s gonna end with some kind of gurren Lagan twist where they go to space and kill all the otsusuki

How a great series bout ninjas turned into trash bout aliens

Because chakra came from aliens
Kaguya was always a much more meanacing villain than Madara, the way they introduced her was kind of an ass pull but they barely beat her, plus naruto and sasuke would’ve never powered up if not for her showing up
im just thinking about the idea of Naruto, and occasionally Sasuke being 3 of the 5 most featured characters without either of their powers lol. Like that just dawned
Kishimoto better step up his exposition bc...not exactly in the same ballpark as these ootsutsukis

I would probably be okay with it if it led to a real Brotuo payoff, but the issue that it would require an all time great level of payoff. Unprecedented levels of payoff. Naruto would be the only protagonist to die out of the 2000s big 4 and one of the few massive Shonen protags EVER to die
and I know we know he dies, but knowing Kishi, I dont even know if thats permanent.

uhhh madara was a human. Even hashirama was supposed to be stronger than him without the 10 tails. He was a shinobi of legends, but beatable. Kaguya CREATED chakra, was essentially a literal god, and at the end of the day no one would've been able to kill her, they were only able to seal her back up
im not saying she's a better character or even a better villain. She's basically a useless character who only exists for her role to shinobi and as a god essentially. But in terms of who was scarier? easy question

Well the thing is Naruto wouldn't be dying as the protagonist anymore. It's different from say Dragon Super where Goku is still the main character so killing him off would present more of a problem.
Not too many protagonists get to pass the torch in the form of a sequel like Naruto did with Boruto. For example Bleach and FMA end with both main characters having kids, but neither series has been turned into a sequel. If they did get sequels starring their sons I'd say the likelihood of Ichigo or Ed dying would be considerably higher.
Though to be fair, up until this point of the story Boruto has still heavily relied on Naruto as a main character. But I think that's been intentional so they could spend time building Boruto's powers up while nerfing Naruto's. We're not even at the timeskip yet and Naruto's already lost Kurama (and Sasuke the Rinnegan), while Boruto hasn't even mastered Karma or the Jogan yet. I think Naruto and/or Sasuke dying now is much more feasible than it would have been back in Naruto.
I noticed a big difference or development as far as themes and concepts go between naruto and boruto
in naruto we were introduced into the idea of repetitions or goin in circles....madara vs hashirama > asura vs indra > naruto vs sasuke plus the idea of pupils repeating their sensei's mistakes...from sarutobi to the fourth hokage all the way to kakashi
in boruto there's (so far) the theme of evolution through learning....scientific ninja tools > og ninjutsu... the children of the previous generation being nothing like their parents (excluding hereditary powers) ...boruto wants to be like sasuke while sarada wants to be hokage.....we went from battles on trees and huge landscapes to space-time environments....we went from jinchuriki to alien vs predator (lol) etc etc
what I'm trying to say is... (the way I see it)

menacing to who? many people who discuss villains put Madara as more of a threat over her because Madara actually had battle intellect. Naruto and Sasuke was kicking the s*** out of her whenever she wasnt just teleporting away. These two also being a bit tired from fighting Madara and ducking the infinite tsukyomi earlier
shes stronger and has more chakra than Madara, but at no point did the heroes fighting her look as hopeless as when Madara was putting it on em (before the Sage of 6 amp)

yeah no doubt, it would just still be hard to imagine, even though it's probably very likely based on the first chapter. Other than (character I cant spoil because of recency), there's not many top 5 Shonen-esque protagonists, in impact, that are dead.
I feel like Kishi is more apt to break down the walls of main character plot armor with how much the story is based around Boruto and Kawaki though. He's not even pretending like the other kids matter, and as of this moment, Sarada or Mitsuki either. To that effect, he gotta do whatever to make sure those two are well developed

The idea of modernization is something that Kishi, and formerly his predecessor, seem to have really took to heart. A Rinnegan being destroyed, a (DONT READ THIS IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THE LATEST CH.) Byakugan-reducing d\*\*\* , dojutsu are being really lessened
What is considered powerful is really changing from endgame Shippuden. Not many massive ass meteors being flicked or souls being sucked, even though (SUPPOSEDLY) these recent villains are as strong or stronger as Madara and Kaguya...and Naruto and Sasuke were SUPPOSEDLY stronger than they were in that arc. It's for the best
Boruto is killing Narutos legacy, they need to dead that s*** rn.
Very mid anime and manga is decent i guess but they need to stop wroting garbage, this mf boruto fighting god level enemies already like bro

It’s straight heat for like 200+ episodes so far for me. I can’t stop watching.
People need to start giving Naruto the respect it deserves
F***ing classic show
Filler and the Kaguya s*** ruined it for a lot of people

Oh for sure, shippuden is very flawed, but the og show i feel like is a perfect shounen show. A true classic in my eyes
