Iām just convinced a lot of yāall just started listening to music 2010 and onward. These takes are batshit crazy
Or maybe we just arenāt automatically biased to old s*** being better than new s*** like you seem to be and we are actually a***yzing the projects on merit

Like I asked, what is Nas saying on Kingās Disease and Magic that is so great? What merit?
And of course there is bias, Iāve met Nas before and been to a bunch of his concerts post 2008. He is a top 2 artist and one of my favorites ever.

If you truly have respect for Nas pen and heās one of your favorites you should know heās saying something on EVERY project
The KD projects and Magic have as much wisdom and insight as some of his best projects and if we wanna talk actual style/skill heās doing the most high level rapping heās done since his prime on those soooā¦.. keep hating hitboy I guess, idk what to tell you
Thereās nothing compared to Nasā storytelling, lyrics, and raspy voice in his prime. Literally nothing.
What is Nas talking about in the King Disease and Magic series? Like seriously?
This nigga put I Am bottom-tier Nas???????????
I Am is THE album people point to when making the Nas picks bad beats argument
I just went through this persons profile and its legit depressing
Bro all Drake stans on Twitter do is cry about Kendrick and disrespect the legends who co-sign him.
These people are not fans of hip-hop. They're chart watching Drake groupies. A legit plague on the genre and culture.
I Am is THE album people point to when making the Nas picks bad beats argument
I am had so much potential before the album leaked. It was one of the first major album leaks ever and they scrambled to change the tracklist at the last minute
some key Nas songs on the album but man oh man what couldāve been

Bro heās a griselda Stan that loves cosplay dust, donāt even bother
There are Drake stans waging war on Nas now for some bizarre reason...?
https://twitter.com/i/status/2001423682279731298I'm telling y'all man, Drake stans do not actually like or respect hip-hop lol it's only sales/streams with them.
They tryna discredit Nas because this album doesn't have numbers like that...my nigga this is Nas we're talking about. Dude has been in the game for 30+ years. What he got left to prove? He dropping music just for the love of hip-hop these days.
Nas hasn't even disrespected Drake either lmao Drake fans will never get over the beef and will force any topic to be about it
And all of his 2020s albums have done similar, they're literally only picking out this one because it's the one post beef era - and idk why they're acting like they would listen neither even if Nas did glaze Drake or sumn, they had 6 other albums to listen too
Also is hilarious the few copers are still harping on the Bots s*** when it never had real merit, literally made up by Akademiks and a random stream caller, and it was found in court its also false - yet there is more of a papertrail now that Drake might be botting with his last few songs if you really care enough (plus the bot social promos n price slashes of SS4U) š
But yeah, you can find these type of weirdos in any of the major fan bases in their own lil ignored corner
Thereās nothing compared to Nasā storytelling, lyrics, and raspy voice in his prime. Literally nothing.

I Am is literally thee Nas album pointed at his career low lol along with Nastradamus, and it's the two albums that created the "Nas picks terrible beats" narrative dawg what are you talm bout
NY State of Mind Pt 2 is amazing tho n one of my fav Nas songs

So the album with NY State of Mind II and Hate Me Now was Nasā career low?
It was Nastradamus, not I Am. Beat-wise there were only 3 or 4 questionable ones.
iām still afraid to listen to this
iām still afraid to listen to this
if you're saying this cause you had big expectations due to their classic collabs from the 90's, then yeah maybe you shouldn't listen to it. I was excited when they first announced it....but idk there's something about nas' rapping voice or cadence that just don't hit the same as it once did. but I shouldn't complain, he still got elite lyricism at 50+ but I can't expect him to sound like 94-01 nas forever lol
so I gave this a listen and right off the bat, production is not so good throughout the entire album. the only 2 songs that stood out to me are writers and junkie. those beats are nice to me.
not a fan of him doing a THIRD ny state of mind, the 1st two were perfect and shoulda left them to rest. and same with 3rd childhood. 2nd childhood is a beautiful and timeless song (stillmatic premo version and 9th wonder version) and them running this back didn't do it justice.
nas is still my all time fav rapper and his discography is extremely solid. but sadly this one just didn't do it for me
IN awe at this album. Second listen. Yk the music's good when you want to start an amateur blog
Man sucks this is so slept on, itās so hard to subvert expectations these days without people immediately dog pilling on it for not being what they wanted
I was guilty of it too. Thought the Preem beats would be more like the first Pryhme album and when it wasnāt I thought it was wack but manā¦. This is so goood
good album imo, i enjoyed it. i think that if people lowered their expectations and didn't hype themselves up on the fantasy/idea of what a nas & premo album is supposed to sound like (which is basically illmatic pt 2 in their eyes) it would've been better received. premo ain't been at that level he was in the 90s for a good minute but the beats were good for what they were for the most part. nas still flowing and rapping his ass off. nas is my favorite oat so i might be a lil biased but idc
Am I crazy, or does the beat for Welcome To The Underground sound like it shouldn't even be here? Nas is killing his verses on it, but the beat is lifeless. It doesn't even sound like it was mixed and mastered with the rest of the album. I really dig the album, but to me this beat needs a redo.
if the album started at track 5 it wouldve been so much better
Nah, I love the first 4 tracks
