Death Row East too fire @DonutHole
4th prime tbh
First Illmatic and it was written, dropped the ball and came back with Stillmatic/lost tapes/gods son, fell back again and hit us with LIG, then when everyone thought he was done he came back with hit boy
Nas really the GOAT
He’s gonna be 70 still rapping better than the field, it’s unprecedented and uncharted waters in terms of rap history

Jigga did it with 4:44 tbf… the Carter’s though

Then he outperformed the other Jay on his own debut

444 a classic but not necessarily bc he was rapping at an elite level (Kendrick dropped that year and was rapping circles around him)
Nas arguably the nicest elite rapper in the game rn at this age (nicer than Cole, Tyler and every other big name that dropped so far)

Yes!
The beat, the lyrics, flow, the hook
Pac's death announcement at nas' concert at the end was a nice touch - nas has always shown pac love and it's very endearing to see
Never knew they tried to make a Death row East

I’d put Nas over jay with rapping ability, I know what you mean about 4;44, that’s more of a classic FUE to content and the overall sound, his technical rapping ability in that wasn’t anything to write home about. He did show that off on the jay elec album though (even though I don’t really FW that)
Listened to about half of this at work today
Really some of the best music I’ve heard in a long time

The Carters was overhated
