Do I agree? NO. Do I think it would be different with a different producer more revered on here all around? YES.
No ones got a hate boner for hitboy, we all know hes a diverse producer. We have a hate for the fact we know when he links with nas all the beats are gonna be the same s***.

I still think Hov edges him out because his prime was more impactful and he’s more versatile and was at or near the top of the rap game from 98-17’ nearly 20 years
Illmatic is the most impactful classic between them, maybe of all time, but during Hovs prime Nas was always playing catch up
17’-present though Nas had definitely been the better rapper no contest

he passed jay cos of some mediocre albums with boring production. nas goat shout comes from all his stuff before this run not because of it. it’s a lot easier to argue on behalf of lost tapes or stillmatic than magic 2 or kd3

Salute to Nas and Hit-Boy. This was a successful run of dope albums that they made together. I appreciate that Hit-Boy gave Nas new life and a new rejuvenation to want to make music again. He provided Nas with some dope ass instrumentals to rap over.
With that being said, it's probably best that they decided to wrap it up with a trilogy of the "King's Disease" series and a trilogy of the "Magic" series.
