The thing that makes the reviewers stance worse is him tryna mention Kelis. Very clearly exposing he has NO IDEA what the f*** he's talking about in regards to that situation.

Nas abused Kelis. And Kelis abused Nas. They divorced, and ever since then Kelis been steady tryna steal more child support money from Nas than what was agreed upon in court, tried to paint Nas as a deadbeat, but Nas came through and exposed texts between him and his son that Kelis keeps tryna keep from him.

That's why it's really best to not even try and speak on that whole thing, it's an absolute mess on both sides. The fact that some white dude is trying to speak on it, especially as a means to trash the album in a review, is exactly why white people need to stay the f*** out of hip-hop reviews and culture. They're clowns.

I agree to a certain extent but I don’t think it’s a race thing, it’s just a cultural thing in general. Regardless of race people are just getting too soft and wanna be seen as PC and social activists. But if nothing else it’s going to end up f***ing up all the arts!

Nas should be treated like the Bob Dylan of hip hop - a wordsmith, and have his work carefully a***yzed and dissected. But that's Kendrick to those critics, even though Kendrick himself has stated that he looks up to Nas and Hov for inspiration. Kendrick should still be praised but damn, Nas doesn't get any respect from them.

Nas is on a different level

Not defending abuse towards women at all here, but I am pretty sick and damn tired of certain narratives being brought up. Kelis was an abuser in her relationship with Nas and Nas abused her as well. They were both just bad for one another. It's also something to note that Nas's daughter Destiny has frequently spoken about abuse she endured by Kelis while the two were together. And the son Nas and Kelis had together even said his own mother was doing the most to keep him from seeing his pops

Not picking sides here, but it's clear that both of them were clearly toxic for one another, and it's why they got divorced in the first f***in place. Kelis just made it worse by tryna finesse alimony and child support money.

That’s kinda my point though. Why should you feel the need to explain yourself and say that you don’t agree with domestic abuse. Surely that’s the go to view point. But these days if you don’t openly write that you disagree with it then everyone’s go to viewpoint is that you are sexist and you agree with it. That’s where our society is just ass! Surely most normal people don’t agree with sexism, racism, abuse of any sort, but these days you’ve gotta be seen to be telling people you’re actively against it. I’d assume the vast majority of people are and have always been against it

Eminem wrote songs about his toxic relationship with his ex wife, I remember a lyric saying she deserved to get hit... And then there's this...
You let me beat the s*** out you before you beat the s*** out me
    song-crazy in love
Yet people give him that credence of "they both were toxic"
only black people in the industry get scrutinized the way they do, there's a difference between holding people accountable for their actions and demonizing a specific set of people whilst overlooking others for the same thing.
Same with the double standard around white women in the industry having multiple baby fathers and black women having multiple baby fathers ...

Better judge of an album than critic scores these days. Same goes for video games, there’s so much bias in reviews now they’re a joke

That only really applies to people with weird ass stans though, like Nicki or Eminem. While normal artist may have a few like that I don’t think it’s the norm, just a few outliers

My ex found out about the whole Kelis abuse allegations and said she's not gonna listen to Nas anymore, which was actually one of the few rappers she "liked'. I told her that there's two sides to every story and we don't know all the details, but she already made up her mind. I'm glad I ended things with that b****

8.2 is a fair score for this album

That was it before the weird reviews came in, the first ones were on point

She's the same one that felt uncomfortable listening to TPAB because of how "racially charged" it was.
