uncharted 1
Uncharted one was good, just not great I remember playing it that Christmas and still liking it alot but realizing it had flaws.

And at the time it was their first game in that style too, so I can’t fault them for that too much.
Thought Uncharted 1 was cool, just a bit repetitive at the end with the backtracking & clunky shooting.
A remake would do wonders.

Love the series but I do think it’s their worst game
I don't know why skyrim was so well relieved. The quest structure and writing were poor and the gameplay so bad that everyone became a stealth archer so they didn't have to engage with it
I don’t know what you struggled with combat about specifically, but the progression systems are great and you can build towards multiple things not just archery, you missed great systems if you didn’t try magic builds or at least a spell sword build. Quest structure really wasn’t that different than most RPGs so I don’t get that criticism.
Skyrim is great because of the freedom, lore, immersion, soundtrack, mod support, etc. and at the time it was one of the biggest and most beautiful fantasy open worlds. and the combat is actually fun if you weren’t a stealth archer. Being a powerful mage with insane late game spells is an amazing feeling and building towards that will always be a satisfying gameplay loop to me.
The worst thing about the game is the radiant quests, but even then there’s like hundreds of actual quests so it always felt more like just a side-dish than anything overbearing. (i.e. Fallout 4 which shoves radiant quests down your throat)

worst game yeah probably but it's not a bad game at all

I’m mainly comparing it to oblivion (I’ve only played a little of morrowind). Oblivion was creative with how it structured quests. In a game that’s predominantly quest focused, it is a valid criticism. I understand your other points tho (not immersion tho because that for me breaks down the more I played it. For instance the npc’s feel static in Skyrim but in oblivion everyone had their own schedule and it felt alive. I remember following a random npc travelling from one city to another and watching her trying to survive the journey. She wasn’t important or in any quests but it’s something I’ll never forget)
One of the things that annoy me about the combat system is that the enemy level scales with you but the magic system is capped. That is a fundamentally flawed system and rules out magic as a viable combat option in the late game. Not to mention that the late game destruction spells have you stationary, unable to move.
Melee combat just isn’t fun to me and I think a lot of that boils down to the poor feeling hit reaction and sound design. I also think it feels bad in oblivion and morrowind but in morrowind I can excuse it because that game is rolling dice in the background.
Reading that a lot of people ended up becoming stealth archers and it becoming a meme didn’t surprise me when I heard it.
Skyrim just doesn’t do anything particularly well other than player freedom. Bethesda keep going backwards with every game release.
Or maybe I hate skyrim because I love oblivion’s sidequests and radiant AI. idk
At least Tati taking it in stride lol

clicked to read the 6 year old tweet and saw 2019 and got a deep pain in my chest and a slight panic it's all your fault OP
Hope they try out a medieval fantasy setting at some point
That would be pretty good. It'll be a non binary knight in the crusades

Yoshida says last of us online was cancelled because of this
The idea that Naughty Dog spent years on Factions only to have that "AHA" moment that they'd need to also keep working on the game after release is just so ridiculous to me.
It just says everything about the insane expectations online games have.
Faction 1 wasn't a "GAAS" . It was a tacked on online mode that used the great gameplay mechanics from the game to create a truly fun experience.
That's all we needed for Factions 2. Some great maps. Few modes. I'd play it for years.
But nah, everything needs a battle pass and 1000 different skins people want to blow money on.
