Both companies failing at multiplayer sad

It got announced 3 years ago ….

imagine telling us in 2013 playing games like uncharted1-3, last of us, arkham asylum/city that in 10 years both studios would be in development hell on games as a service online midpacks

Maybe it's a sign to abandon trying to make money-making multiplayer games and stick to making good, quality single player games.

Sounds like naughty dog wants to do that but Sony sunk so much money into this they can’t cancel it

I think ND makes good multiplayer experiences, I’m definitely not disputing that .
But the multiplayer landscape has changed sooooo much since Factions 1, and the type of games ND want to make just doesn’t fit into that new multiplayer climate

I’d imagine they were planning on Factions 2 to have its own story, be realistic, and to minimize the need for micro transactions . But Sony sees how much money they can make from those micro transactions so they were probably going to force ND to implement a lot of in-game purchase s***. Sounds like Sony wants their own Fortnite basically

And that’s just not the type of company that Naughty Dog is known to be, so I think it’s best that they choose to focus on single player for the time being.

This is a very well put post. And I agree even from reading the article this is most likely exactly what happened lol.

Unfortunately, naughty dog can suck my naughty d***.

I don't care what they wanna do its what the fans want, and most importantly what I want.

All these dudes had to do was copy and paste the mp from 1 and put it the latest game, they wanna add a battlepass fine, I thought if i remembered correctly from the last mp you could customize your characters somewhat. Bump it to 60fps for ps5 call it a day.

They drop this s***ty tv show and I have this 500 box collecting dust they remade tlou part 1 from scratch pretty much that nobody even asked for.

Bungie gave the go ahead to announce Haven and Firewalk's game's with s***ty CGI trailers that looks like microtransactions out the wazoo

but says nah we cant monetize enough on this

we need to start a dialogue about bungie

We gotta talk about how ND has had 4yrs + the years they worked on TLOU 2 to show something about this game but haven't.

If anything maybe the can reuse some assets from this for TLOU3

I meannnn let’s be honest , if ND spent this much time working on this game just for it to be almost a carbon copy of the first one with a battle pass…people would endlessly s*** on it.
And it would be lazy for sure .
Naughty Dog is prestigious for pushing gaming consoles to their limit and always surpassing their previous games by making improvements gameplay wise and graphically

At least this was being worked on by a dedicated multiplayer team and wasn’t their main focus
