Please take a moment to admire the great LeBron for the special talent he is. It never gets old looking at the King's history. So many accomplishments Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan will never achieve:
1.Only player in NBA history to quit because of Air Conditioner.
2.Quit on his team the year after he promises a championship.
3.Dunked on by a high school kid then confiscated the tape.
4.Bail on the dunk contest 9 times.
5.Only able to win a ring with 2 superstars.
6.Play on same team as his moms boyfriend.
7.Average 1.8 pts in the 4th quarter of NBA finals.
8.Lose not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, but 6 times in the Finals.
9.Host a national televised TV show to leave his team.
10.Go 2 for 18 in an NBA playoff game.
11.Get stuffed by a player under 6 feet. (Nate Robinson)
12.Flop every single game in the playoff 5 out of 6 finals games by dropping FG% by 18.
13. lost to the pelicans without anthony davis
14.0 Rings if not for refs calling early fouls on Durant and Westbrook it threw them out of rhythm, made them play soft, and sit for big parts of the game which changed the flow and momentum of the finals.
15. First person to show his d*** and lose in a Finals game.
16. got shut down by a bench player who ended up getting finals MVP
17. could not post up jj barea
18. got outscored by Jason Terry in an entire finals series
19. lost to the worst #1 seed ever without their best player and Lebron scoring 1 point in the last 18 minutes of the game
20. lose to the phoenix suns

Booker is the better offensive player.. more dynamic off the dribble on drives or on jumpers... also a better ball handler and playmaker so he's more versatile in that aspect... Tatum is very good on both ends and definitely a much better defender.
If they have the same rosters.... Gimme Booker.... I'd take Booker on Boston over Tatum.
We're top 5 in defensive efficiency in large part because of Tatum lol. That's not happening with Booker. Theres a reason Tatum a +/- leader despite playing with bench units a ton
Tatum is an allstar not a superstar.... I don't think he'll be as good as say a PG at his best and I don't consider PG a superstar.
I'm dead
f***ing tears
I hope you're stealing all 4
aint you steal hundreds of thousands of people dollars in that pyramid scheme

So yes, booker is a better offensive player (not anywhere the degree to which some numbers would suggest). He shoots better off the dribble in the mid range and draws more fouls and finishes better (Tatum couldn't finish for s*** to start the season, this was more the result of some weird cold streak than an indication of ability, so its not as much as a gap as numbers indicate). Booker is a better passer, but also worth noting that tatum plays for a team in a system that historically has not had any players rack up big assist numbers because the emphasis has always been on team play rather than any one player dominating possessions. also, tatum has just recently been commanding double teams, and he sees the floor well. he's younger than booker + less experienced, so its not as though he can't become a playmaker like booker.
However, Tatum is a better 3 point shooter, other than Booker getting hot and hitting threes from ungodly distances, there is nothing that would suggest booker is better beyond the arc.
Booker - 392 threes, 36%
Tatum - 469 threes, 40.3%
Booker - 161 catch and shoot 3s, 39.8%
Tatum - 158 catch and shoot 3s, 39.9%
Booker - 225 pull up 3s, 34.2%
Tatum - 307 pull up 3s, 40.7%
Booker - 68 tightly contested or very tightly contested 3s, 27.9%
Tatum - 139 of those shots, 35.2%
Open wide/wide open 3s - Booker 37.5%, Tatum 42.4%
Of all players with at least 200 pull up 3s, Tatum actually leads the league in FG% on those shots too lol (should not Hardens volume on this shot would be off the chart if someone made up, but tatum is 8th in total pull 3 fga)
Tatum also outscores Booker in PPP in isolation, 1.00 to 0.95 on a higher frequency. beats him in transition 1.23 to 1.19 (booker has more volume)
Pick and roll ball handler tatum has the edge 1.02 to .93, and is nearly in the 90th percentile for scoring in this play type. Booker is ahead in post ups, .94 to .87
Booker gets 1.05 ppp on spot ups vs tatums 1.07
a big discrepancy in bookers favor is on hand-offs, .98 to .82 for tatum. and he gets a lot more on cuts (look at his PG vs ours). Tatum is better setting picks, but the volume is negligible (he's in the 94th percentile popping out tho)
Looking at that data, Booker would still get the edge offensively due to playmaking, but its not all cut and dry lol. As evidence for tatums potential as a playmaker, he is actually in the 95th percentile for passing out of traps, the volume is just not there yet.
to be continued due to character limit
Silver you were doing so well
