No undefeated P5 conference champ has ever been left out of the 4 team CFP

Washington has absolutely nothing to worry about if they win out

I see more people asking for them to pass FSU more than anything honestly

I just think there’s a contingency that believe Oregon is a superior team right now, and are prob prognosticating that they beat them in the P12 championship and kill both of their chances for the CFP

The most delicious semi-realistic result is Bama winning the SEC CG and Oregon beating UDub and the committee being forced to put Oregon over Georgia for that last spot

THAT is the most f***ery filled timeline that’s really possible we have available

Oregon is 100% in if they win

They should be but I wouldn’t say it’s a 100% at all

There is no precedent for a 1 loss non-champ to be in over a 1 loss p5 champ

The losers of Michigan/OSU and Georgia/Bama are out barring a complete catastrophe like Oregon to losing to Oregon St. and then beating Washington

But even then Texas probably just takes over that last spot

yup. i think they get it done too. clemson guy i follow on twitter has spoken about how they remind him of the DW4 clemson champ team. i think it may be a tad bit of an exaggeration. but there are some similarities that’ll probably lead me to bet them over oregon in the P12 champ game

yea FSU is donezo lol. and post travis injury for sure more people want them out for UW but i think it prolly shoulda been that way with travis too

If we're going off historical precedent, the SECCG and The Game losers only path to getting in is at least two of the following things happening

FSU loses to Louisville, making them a 1 loss non-champ
Oregon loses to Oregon State and beats Washington, making them a 2 loss p5 champ
Washington loses to Oregon, making them a 1 loss non-champ
Texas loses to either Texas Tech or the Big 12 championship, making them either a 2 loss non-champ or a 2 loss champ

If only one or none of those things happen, the field should be pretty cut and dry

They can both get in, and they both will get in if they win out

I guess FSU had the argument for beating a few teams handily, including LSU

They did seem like they stuck out like a sore thumb, but I feel like that was more because they played so many uninteresting matchups
