@op first off if you haven't def listen to Safe in the Hands of Love. HTATM is a masterpiece too but that's still his best imo.

Otherwise going off the fact you said you're looking for sugary stuff and the fact that Yves is very psychedelic and experimental

But, fun fact, Yves Tumor's real last name is actually Bowie. Also a very obvious direct answer to what you're asking for I think

this album rocks hard af and I'm not even sure it's rock, but it's one of my fav albums of the 10s. Shame dude went full since

psychedelic with some fairly amazing jamming/solos and catchy af

more folky but also psychedelic/experimental guitar beauty with goat melodies

    maybe some King Krule even?

    great choices

honestly some of those don't even have that much in common with Yves in terms of genre lol but I sort of feel like you might dig them too if you like him(/them?)

p sure they use they but i also feel like they said it doesn’t mattwr too much

yves really hit such a unique sound. it’s funny c i feel like their earlier noise/experimental stuff, was easier to sort of connect to other artists if that makes sense

they still have that experimental “do what i want” edge but they connected it so perfectly with pop/rock that it’s really hard to relate them to anyone else right now

they really are in a lane of their own and i feel like their next album could solidify them in the ranks of bowie, bc they seriously are doing s*** i didn’t think was possible.

their mixes are also really unique. they give so much room for the low end to do it’s own thing. low end has been so crowded between really loud mixing and over use of 808s.

their go to bass player is amazing, i forgot her name, but she’s fr perfect. she carries this album on her back, and i feel like that’s what makes them so special.

all the songs u listed may not sound similar directly but def have the “do what i want” edge yves has

i fr think we going through a musical renaissance rn and if you’re nit excited you need to wake up !!

yeah I'm a big time fan of Serpent Music and Experiencing... and the mixes (Fader 2016 in particular). Such an interesting career arc from super underground noise s*** to weirdo pop/rock star. A good friend of mine also tattooed the When Man Fails You design on his leg, I still need to listen to that one some more. We saw him perform together between SITHOL and HTATM where they played a lot of those songs already. It was really dark and I barely saw them on stage lol, I do remember I thought they acted very divalike, the performance was awesome tho

interesting shout with the bass player, she's fr straight killing it. Just relistened to my fav track Identity Trade and the bass is def a large part of why it grooves so insanely hard

Also u real for seeing the connection of my picks lol I feel like that's a very personal association just of favorites reminding me of other favorites in a very abstract way

This one touched me so heavy one night I was still hearing it in my dreams lol

    best tracks

anyway, surprised no one has mentioned pink floyd or king crimson. 70s prog in general has some pretty lush production and ethereal instrumentation similar to what is displayed on the album

    pneu

For glam probably Roxy Music - For Your Pleasure

Yves really delivered a brilliant album

I was gonna suggest self titled
