iconic song
the Willie Nelson duet on Old Ways throws gargantuan shade at all the douchebag wannabe cowboys till plaguing the americas on Are There Any More Real Cowboys
"W: Not the one that's snortin' cocaine
W: When the honky-tonk's all closed
W: But the one that prays for more rain, heaven knows
W: That the good feed brings the money
W: And the money buys the clothes
W: Not the diamond sequins shining on TV
W: But the kind the working cowboy really needs"

Yeah remember I been on it since 2018 and finally moved on because of this thread. Going hard chrono so I've heard all his albums before Old Ways.

Listened all the Buffalo Springfield albums already this morning
aside from Neil's obvious highlights Stills deserves props for his acoustic proto-prog Bluebird
However I'm willing to bet the precise reason Neil went solo was this reetardation from Stills;
"Uno mundo, Asia is screaming
Uno mundo, Africa's seething
Uno mundo, America bleeding
Uno mundo, just the same!"

@Jerry_Seinfeld tking a break?

I lived beside jukeboxes all through the fifties. There was “The Great Pretender,” “Cross Over the Road.” I never knew who was singing. I never followed things that way. I still don’t. I wasn’t a student of music; I was a student of the restaurant I was in — and the waitresses. The music was a part of it. I knew what number the song was. Leonard Cohen.

Neil Young is also from Canada. What do you think of him?
The only thing a writer has to have for me is just one song that manages to hit me and I love him immediately. I remember hearing that song … starting to sing “Blue, blue windows behind the stars / Yellow moon on the rise …” from Helpless by Neil Young. He is very good.

Always loved this cover. One GOAT recognizing the excellence of another GOAT
debut album revisit was great. not a good starting point at all but there's a haunted sadness there that shouldnt be missed.
