that’s bc they must be hella full of s*** elitists then like oh there’s much better nah man it’s a killer song and that’s all there is to it
that’s like me downplaying good vibrations
nahh, i feel like its relatively rare for an artist's biggest hit to also be their absolute best (besides one hit wonder type artists ofc) its very natural for fans to like the deeper cuts or lesser hits more, doesnt have to be necessarily elitism all the time
youre telling me kokomo isnt a top 3 beach boys song???

I’m excited though for Apple to get fixed so I can come back with more favourites.
Check out old man the one I shared earlier. That’s a great song.
Just heard it lol
Wasn't bad
Old man take a look at my life, I'm alot like you
I need someone to love me, the whole way through
looking at charts is so fascinating bc it shows how time and pop culture comes and goes
did you know one of the singles from this notes for you went up to number 20 on billboard? no one in the world remembers that record

crosby is so funny these days on twitter
he’s you’re typical dad oldhead anti rap dude
one friend one time pranked him and he didn’t get the joke he took it as a compliment bc yes crosby replies to everyone there
think it had something to do with mocking this artwork iirc:/w_600/DavidCrosby_IfOnlyICouldRememberMyName.jpg
@RVI david marks type beat it has something to be in the davids
What's your argument for it being overrated?
it is probably his most popular song ever, but i do not think it is one of his best, although it is quite great. thus in my opinion its overrated. no argument involved
his songs i think are better either have more emotional resonance/lyrics that hit with me more, melodies that are more compelling to me or instrumentation i like better (ie his heavy guitars and solos, crazy horse rhythm section). i dont like the drumming on Harvest very much, just strikes me as generally plodding, so thats also part of why i prefer live Heart of Gold versions with just acoustic guitar. not at all saying simplicity is bad, but for someone as good as lyrics as neil its easy for him to outdo a song like that with some deeper more poetic s*** or something that can make me cry. or a more impassioned vocal
still a 8-9/10 song for me
