I hate to be that guy but I donāt want to see footage about coodie no disrespect
Facts, Idk why he was talking about his own career at all and showing his family towards the end of the second episode. "Kanye went on tour without me, so unfortunately I had to return to my own mediocre life" type s***
Agree with more episodes, this thing should've been 6-8 episodes. But it's only 3, so manage the time better. A lot of s*** could've been cut/shortened. Him getting dinner and talking to college kids, friends and family throwing at a New Years Party is the type of footage I'm talking about. Keep that in there but not for so long
Peep Cherry Bomb documentary if you haven't, that's a good balance. Christmas parties and hanging out with his friends but also him explaining what inspired the music and actually recording it
Was Cherry Bomb produced by Tyler himself?
This Ye doc was a perspective piece. The two are very different.

Fair enough
Coodie is just ass at what he's passionate about, not Ye's fault

I didnāt mind Coodieās story in this. He had to explain why he went around filming a local rapper from his area for a couple of years. His story kinda matters in this type of piece.
Heās able to show two sides to the story. His was more grounded in reality while Yeās was living a superstar lifestyle.

We're just going to disagree on this
Definitely should've been more episodes, but he just didn't use the time as efficiently as he could knowing the constraints he had imo.
Still need to peep the third episode though
Was rough seeing Ye ignoring Coodie after Dondaās passing.
I can sense some sort of resentment on Yeās face when Coodie was around.

You havenāt seen it yet?

Yeah, read my posts in here. I was only speaking on footage from the first two episodes. I expected this documentary to have at least gotten to Donda's death towards the end of episode 2 if there's only 3 episodes

I did kinda interject
I finished watching ep 3 so I kinda have to go back and read stuff.
Ye talking to his dad and checking out bowls is my fav scene next to the Donda giant talk. They didnāt need to hit that note again tho, we already got the point.
I FEEL LIKE THAT
I never get why Ye changes songs that are already perfect all the time
OG UFTA with the fade out intro being played during the JIK part

I got kinda derailed too, I was talking about the type of footage at first
But I guess my main criticism is not using the time as effectively as it could've been used
I do appreciate the insight into Ye's personality and seeing that giant looking in the mirror quote from Donda
It's so dope seeing Ye think on it for a few seconds, realize what it means and chuckle a lil before they discuss it

The editing in episode 3 I think is the best
and ye clearly wasted but clearly joking about the chike thing lol
you can tell at the end how he grabs the mic, but great creative choice to move into the "yeah i was hurt - outside circle" feeling
he wasnt don, ibn, cons etc
Yeās team telling him he canāt come on tour with them anymore
People need to understand this is not a Kanye documentary, but a Coodie documentary. Itās Kanye from Coodieās perspective only.
this just moves too fast to be fulfilling. and itās so cherrypicked and painted in a narrative. why show JIK as a positive comeback era when it was undoubtedly his most troubled era, with the worst music and plenty of mental health troubles? and show 2018 as a pure s*** show? itās because coodie wasnāt around during 2018 and doesnāt know all the great from that year. itās just all media painted information heās going off of
2018 for the most part was a s*** show tho

Another doc will drop later on.
Nico has been filming him basically everyday since 2015
Seeing the KMSA footage really helps me understand Yeās writing process. Heāll have a bunch of writers do a bunch of versions of something, but what heās really searching for is that little bit of magic, which happens in the margins of this big thing heās orchestrated. That concentrated rawness. The perfect imperfection.
Itās sort of like what I heard the Jackass guys say. They say that some of their most elaborate bits never work out. Theyāll set up this big stunt but what they end up putting in the film is Wee-Man getting punched in the balls over in the corner when theyāre f***ing around lol.
This is a fire a***ogy that only real artists will understand. Underrated comment tbh.
The editing in episode 3 I think is the best
Episode 3 gave me Michael Jackson vibes
