Things were going down behind the scenes between Jay/Dame/Biggs obv, the doc makes it seem like they was blackballing Kanye for no reason

I believe that, that was around the time the Roc was breaking up

But Coodie did get the feeling they were just keeping him around so they didn’t lose him as a producer

When he was backstage arguing with his label mate not to call him a producer rapper then minutes later they were saying they were bringing Ye to LA to produce for Peedi

    F*** Roc-A-Fella, honestly.

Cock-A-Fella more like it, like Nas said.

Ye carried that label on his back when it wasn't even relevant anymore, when he didn't have to, all the way to the end.

What years would you say they weren’t relevant?

Literally just as Kanye was making a name for himself the Roc wasn't as popping as it was during the late 90s-very early 2000s.

Especially when Jay/Dame fell out. Ye pretty much revived it and kept it alive way into his career in the later years when it wasn't even relevant.

"The Roc is still alive every time I rhyme" line is actual truth.

I’m just asking wasn’t sure if you meant Roc Nation too

Kanye definitely was the big star of Roc when Jay left but they had Cam’Ron too

Roc Nation is a whole other thing. I was talking about Roc-A-Fella specifically.

Cam was on it too but even he had back and forths with Jay and eventually left pretty quickly.

True Jay was the only popping artist they had before Kanye. Then Ye came and became something bigger

I wish we could’ve seen how Ye even linked up with Jay for Blueprint beats. How they find him?
