i think that’s open to debate and i’m prob not informed enough to have a solid opinion either way.

In any case That wasn’t my contention with the OP tho, he specifically drew a link between people supporting s***work / s***positivity for women and sexualising 11 year old girls.

As an aside i’d say that my gf’s 15yo sis stayed with us the other week and her fav song rn is WAP - on the one hand that supports ur view, but on the other hand when i was 15 Lollipop by Lil Wayne was one of the biggest songs of the year so 🤷🏻‍♂️

    we're the same age fam

you're right , but WAP is being promoted way differently , lollipop was huge because it was a banger and catchy as f***

WAP is being promoted as an anthem for women

I get what you're saying , they're doing it on purpose for people to talk about it and create outrage , but its still wrong the way they are doing it , the movie is a critique and the trailer and posters should reflect that

for example this is the original poster

    https://hdss.watch/uploads/thumb/600x900-0-65/2020-04/1586328667_weuscg5vw608kuf2c6orgtysss2.jpg

    and this is Netflix poster

    im not ! anything

Yeah thats what american companies do fam

Theres a big market for outrage content on american social media platforms and american companies are taking control of that

If you think the debate on s***work is centred solely, or even mainly on “sugar babies” i’ve gotta say you’re strongly misguided

Not saying they did but i still fail to understand how supporting adult s***work / s***positivity for women has any link to sexualising 11 year old kids, and how you can claim that KTT users (or anyone else) who supports the former is at fault for the latter

that user is weird bro i’ve had him blocked for so long now. can’t believe he’s typing up posts about how “sex work Twitter” is “geared towards young girls” like what??

Seems like one of those ones where someone develops a strong opinion on something with only a really narrow understanding of it lol

because it is a s***positive HIT song from the POV of a gender that has historically been less able to express that side of its self through popular music. Lollipop was just one of a million tracks about a dude getting his d*** sucked lmao

    Her parents okay with this?

Some parents can’t wait to exploit their kids this isn’t surprising at all

you're right and its f***ed up , because the early reviews this movie got and the awards it got talk about the movie being disturbing because its an accurate portrayal of how girls that age are acting and the consequences of it, and Netflix is promoting that s*** like its the new Step Up or some s***

i think that’s how a lot of men are with the concept of women as people tbh, especially on this site 🤢

Start some faux outrage over a film thats obviously against the sexualization of young girls to get people talking about it and then come explain what this is all about after all the clout has been received in an "apology letter"

Like I wouldve never heard about this movie if it wasnt for this

"obviously against the sexualization of young girls"

    Based on what?

  • Aug 20, 2020

Their even sexualizing the lil baby dolls people

plenty of adults use Tik Tok and Youtube lmfao. on the other side of that, you think kids don’t listen to the radio, then go and look up the uncensored song of which they already pretty much know what the lyrics are?

you’re being very ignorant of how young people hear/consume music in defense of a point that doesn’t make sense

of course , but tiktok and youtube is mainly directed for kids

these type of imagery and dances are made for kids, just look at 6ix9ine artworks for example

    27 club !

Yeah i hear you there, it does confuse me how this type of video is lauded as being empowering - it just seems to me to be a continuation of sexualising female artists for the male gaze, but it’s framed as the opposite.

It’s a bit of a weird one cos in a wider cultural i can kinda understand it, as women’s sexuality is still policed so much more than men’s that s***positivity could be seen as quite revolutionary/empowering.

But then in terms of music industry wasn’t Lil Kim doing this 20 years ago and going platinum off it? Can’t see how its groundbreaking in that sense

Youtube is definitely not mainly for kids the argument can be made for Tik Tok because majority of its user base is probably kids, but Youtube was never just a place for kids.

and i know you’re not trying to make it out like if a video has colors and dancing it’s directed towards kids are colors and dancing childish, y’all??
