So far they have been keeping all the details about the show very lowkey.
“We’re thrilled for the opportunity to helm this live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender,” DiMartino and Konietzko said in a release announcing the project. “We can’t wait to realize Aang’s world as cinematically as we always imagined it to be, and with a culturally appropriate, non-whitewashed cast. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to build upon everyone’s great work on the original animated series and go even deeper into the characters, story, action, and world-building. Netflix is wholly dedicated to manifesting our vision for this retelling, and we’re incredibly grateful to be partnering with them.”
UPDATE: Original Creators exit because of creative differences.

Glad the original creators are involved but this unnecessary as hell
kind of like Lion King tbh i would rather have taken a 4k bluray remaster of the original show(not the s***ty bluray release we got)
but let's hold our judgements til we see it
Y’all think we’ll get story / elements from LOK into this show?
Honestly, I want a retelling of every TLA book but I trust them. Netflix usual let’s them do whatever TF they want. So I’m sure this will be more “darker” / edger / intense then the animated show. I have faith this will be amazing
When y’all think this dropping? I’m thinking earliest spring 2021
if shooting starts in february 2020 i think it may even drop at the end of 2020
Not really lmao
House of Cards S1&2, Bojack, Ozark, and ST S1 is the only good s*** they’ve done that’s also been popular

I hope this just takes place in the same universe and is more of a prequel
A complete remake would be lame, except for the climax of Sozin’s Comet
Witcher trailer makes me more excited for this, they’re definitely going to be well funded in terms of the budget if that’s any indicator
Yoooo what?! Wonder how closely this is gonna follow the original storyline 🤔
Would rather it follow a new Avatar tbh

so far it seems like it will be take on the original

nah man. Narcos & Daredevil is how Netflix rose to popularity. Then Stranger Things & 13 Reasons continuted that popularity if not quality. Master of None probably their best show.
unless you are talking about from a certain time period like post 2017
M Night Shyamalan better return to direct
would run up in netflix office wit the AK
shooting starting february
It's not anymore.
They haven't even started casting.
