Birthday is coming up on December 2nd, and I’m debating between the two.
My current TV right now is nearly 7 years old (42” Hisense) and I keep it in my bedroom.
Was thinking about grabbing the LG C4, which is currently $899, but on the otherhand I really want to get a OLED Steam Deck (especially if it goes on sale on BF).
Honestly torn between the right rn.
The OLED Deck is great, but it's in this weird spot rn.
If you want old emulation, I'd just go for a Retroid Pocket 5 or similar. Cheaper, just as capable and not as big
If you want PS3/360 - those don't work on the Deck that well anyway, so you'd need a Z1E chip like the Ally, Ally X or Legion Go
It's not good enough to run newer AAA titles, Alan Wake 2, Warhammer are two pretty good examples
If it was any TV, it'd be a tougher choice, but an LG C4 makes it the obvious winner imo
My LG C1 is the biggest improvment to my gaming experience.
Unless you really love portables and playing on the go, playing all those steam games on a big screen high refresh tv is just so good.
4k hisense + apple tv 4k setup been amazing for me without breaking the bank

I have a PS5, so I’m not concerned with AAA, mostly want the Steam Deck for exclusives, backwards compatibility etc. plus being able to take advantage of Steam sales.
LG C4 easy imo, gonna get way more use from it prob

Was also considering this as a cheaper alt so I could get both:

Not OLED, but guaranteed to be a big improvement over what I currently have.

But I wanna replay New Vegas, Morrowind, Dead Space 2, the old Splinter Cells etc.

just scoop a 360 or ps3 for like 100 buck bro
It’s for my bedroom and my bedroom is literally 8’x10’.
oh i feel u, i have a 50 inch in my bedroom and it feels plenty big, sometimes i wish i just got 55" tho
i might say just get 50/55" for future-proofing purposes tbh
Lg C2 OLED
The LG B4 OLED 48" is probably the best bang for your buck that you can get right now at $600

Maybe I’ll opt for this, if the SD LCD goes on sale than the two of them together will only be slightly more than the C4.
Are you a PC gamer? Don't really see the point in investing in a deck right now, feel like they'll have an upgrade in 2 years
TV will get more use from you overall than the time you'll spend playing a steam deck too
Earlier this year I switched from a 2018 Hisense to a C3. Easily the best tech purchase I’ve made all year
tv wtf
i got a 50 and want a 55
grass is always greener....
easier to just pony up now tho than upgrade to a whole new tv tho if he outgrows it
