wym we're in the middle of a pandemic and trump has swore off masks up until a week ago and has completely and utterly failed to protect the american public while we watch other countries around the world rebuild themselves

he openly aligns himself with alt-right/white supremacists, refusing to denounce things like confederate flag and cares more about statues of confederate traitors than actual american citizens who are dying due to police brutality

he is a b**** and i do not f*** with him

I mean we can speculate about this pandemic but we will never know how someone like Biden would handle it. Trumps stance on mask doesn’t make a difference because people are going to do what they want to do. People are having COVID parties for crying out loud, we not blaming anyone but those idiots for s*** like that. All I know is most people who were unemployed ended up making more for staying home than what they was getting going to work.

As far as him lining himself up with white supremacy, I hear you but that doesn’t make him worse than Biden (which is the argument), Biden has lined himself up with KKK members and has actually said more openly racist things against blacks than Trump. So to me pulling the racist card is a wash because they both racist.

That’s why I bring up war on d**** and crime bills because I’m comparing actually actions that has taken place.

I’m perfectly fine acknowledging Biden’s s***ty history in response to crime but are we seriously acting like Trump wouldn’t have been just as hard lined 40 years ago? Times have clearly changed towards more progressive attitudes and regardless of how I feel about Biden as a person at least his administration is currently pushing for progressive policies. Trump’s attitudes on the other hand STILL literally support everything that the Crime Bill and the War on D**** stand for. The one thing I’ll give him credit for is the First Step Act but that’s such a tiny drop in the bucket that really doesn’t do anything in the larger scheme of things that it’s not even worth mentioning. It’s just a little virtue signaling meant to appeal to black voters. I wanted Bernie so f***ing badly but unfortunately that didn’t happen and between who we’ve got, you cannot tell me Trump is the better option. Again, Biden’s team has worked with Bernie’s the last few months to put together a more left leaning platform. It’s literally the most progressive one since FDR. Trump is calling it the most radical left platform we’ve ever seen which should be a good sign we’re actually getting somewhere.

i agree with you mostly and i think you're right to be realstic and just vote biden to keep trump out. if it was bernie you'd want mainstream dems to do it for you, so i think it's a good thing to do

but i feel like biden won't fight for those policies :(

It would already have been hard enough to get them through with someone like bernie in the white house trying to use movement politics to pressure people.. it feels impossible with someone who isn't coherent about them or doesn't care about them like biden

100% we don’t know for sure how Trump would be. All we can do is speculate same way we will never know how Biden would of handled this pandemic. That’s why my argument it’s based off of facts of who played a role in what policies and actions and what had more negative impacts.

And this can all be true but Trump’s policies have not been as damaging to marginalized communities as Biden’s.

Not even saying Trump’s policies haven’t hurt marginalized groups at all we obviously know they have. But Biden’s have been more hurtful plus we’ve seen the everlasting effect of them.

We’re pretty much asking the guy that f***ed s*** up for Black people to come in and fix it.

All you said should be common sense

trump wasn't really political like that till like 5 years ago tho. his kids were registered democrats and couldn't vote for him in the primary. that's how un-republican they were, now they could end up running as his successor in 2024

I think that makes a big difference. as you can tell i have a low opinion of both, but i really do think there's more risk in a trump second term than a depressing biden win

This is fair man. I don’t think there’s a wildly defining difference between the 2 candidates, I just prioritize Black and Brown issues and Biden’s record makes me feel like he’s not the guy for the job.

bro you ain't even gotta look at biden's record to know he's not the man for the job

and by this point it's not even funny it's just sad

but despite all his rhetoric trump got a swampy republican white house, biden gonna have a corporate dem whitehouse

who you trusting more? cos to a large extent i feel like they're more important than trump or biden

all this talk about a more progressive platform is full of policies i don't think he'll fight to deliver..

but just small things like biden's white house picking a supreme court nom instead of trump's. they've committed to their nom being an african american woman too. which isn't everything as your identity doesn't define who's interests you'll serve but is something. and they're must less likely to pick a war on d****-style hardliner.

people are having COVID parties because there's not a government required mandate that requires enforcement of masks which is a stark contrast to every other country in the f***ing world that's battling the pandemic.

I agree and disagree. I graduated school laying in bed taking open book tests and making 800 a week not working in May. It was fire. But, now, I'm back at work and cases have tripled where I live (Oklahoma) and that's due to our incompetent local government that was empowered by Trump to act in the way they're acting.

I totally get the Biden stuff but we're talking about things that took place 30-40 years ago. He's a politician and politicians can change their stances on things. They're hypocrites and they suck, overall. But, at this point, Biden is just a recognizable name that'll help to get Trump and his gang of idiots out of office and do a soft reset on this whole thing.

  • Jul 21, 2020

“The media says we’re all a bunch of racists but what are they gonna say when we elect the first black president in American history”

I can just see the words coming out of Trumps mouth in 2024

  • FRANK DUX

biden winning will pacify the discourse. i think that will inherently allow him to get away with some villainous s***

    just like obama

No one pays attention & when they do, the democrats shrug it off and stupidly blame a Jill Stein or a Nader. Someone so low radar & easy picking fruit to spend blog post after whining blog post.

But they never ever want to open that other door of plausibility:

That’s the door 99% don’t even venture to touch that door.

But the fact that it was 30-40 years ago makes it that much worse because of the lasting affect it’s had. People are protesting for prison reform, you don’t think that’s not aligned with Biden’s history of mass incarceration?

I get what you saying about politicians change they stances and are hypocrites but thing is Biden doesn’t feel bad for his past. In fact the clintons had to apologize for the crime bill and Biden told them they shouldn’t have done that.
