I hope they’re letting Haden Blackman go as crazy with the story as he wants. The time period and location is so unique for a game.

ofc you are! its set in Sicily so they're definitely going back to the roots (and honestly further back than even the roots i.e mafia 1/2)

if we can look at old leaks that said it would be set in 1900s sicily since they've now been substantiated, heres some possible info

• The game is supposed to cover the life of Don Salieri in Sicily and his rise to power in the late 19s and early 20s centuries.
