The reason why it didn't work in the playoffs is there was no other player on the team to really demand that much pressure from the Hawks.

Sexton is enough of a threat on offense that he'd draw attention constantly, allowing Randle room to breathe. You can't double-team Randle if there's another player who can create their own shot and score on three levels. RJ isn't at that level yet so the Hawks didn't have to worry about him. Rose might be able to do it some nights but that's not his primary game. Burks can do it, but he was in the second unit most of that series and he's only giving you bench guy production. It just was not enough consistent scoring power or threats on the team
