I'm actually in full support of the Knicks hiring Thibs. Personally, I wouldn't of had a problem if they hired Kenny, Woodson, Thibs, or stuck with Miller. But in regards to having a young team, I think Thibs would probably be the best choice. Something that young players need to learn early on is discipline and accountability. Instill values of working hard and wanting to get better. Which is a reason why my top two choices were Thibs or Miller.

Woodson is a good coach when a team already has good players to work with. We saw this when he took over after the D'Antoni debacle. Thing is, he isn't the best with reeling players in as we saw with JR Smith wylin out. Granted JR is a special case, but I digress. When it comes to the Knicks, we're still not entirely sure where these young guys can go just yet. With Atkinson...apparently Nets players and fans did not like him. I felt he was a good coach and did a good job developing that Nets team these past four years. Had the Rona not hit he would've gotten them to the playoffs back to back. And on a four year contract, that's definitely pretty solid considering it's a team consisting of young players. But who knows the truth there for sure, because if players didn't like him there must've been something going on and they were winning games in spite of him.

With Thibs, he already has the kinda players he would love to coach. Hardworking young player always willing to give it their all. Thibs is definitely gonna make RJ, Mitch, and Frank break out next. I feel like his big project is gonna be on Knox, and if it's one coach who's gonna whip Knox into shape, it'll definitely be Thibs.

All in all I find it pretty f***in crazy the amount of flak the Knicks are catching for hiring Thibs...I've never seen such contempt for a coach who has proven himself as a coach (assistant and head) for damn near three decades, finally turned the Bulls back into a thread in the east in the early to mid 2010s, continuing his playoff resume by finally coaching the Timberwolves to the playoffs after 20 f***in years in only his second year coaching there. He's won a title as an assistant head coach with the Celtics, he's won coach of the year. Has one of the better regular season W/L records. His playoff record, while not amazing, is still better than most during that Miami superteam era and an overall much more competent eastern conference.

The most I ask is for these bitter ass Knicks fans who are mad we didn't hire Atkinson...get a f***in grip. They're acting like we actually went ahead and hired Jason Kidd

I think it's moreso that people want a modern NBA coach. I know we don't got shooters like that but we could developers players in improving their shot and sign FAs that can shoot.

I'm not upset with Thibs. We could have done way worse.

the thing with thibs is he likes to play to players strengths

we have a bunch of complete ass shooters on our team so unless we get more shooters in the offseason, for sure he’d want to cut down on mid range jumpshots but he wouldn’t try to get everybody pulling from the logo like somebody like atkinson would because that’s just what all the other teams are playing like.

I think he’s a great basketball mind and we needed a strong presence in the coaching spot desperately. Not to mention he’s just a proven winner, the Minnesota situation was a unique failure. anybody livid at the thibs hire is delusional to an extent. Listening to podcasts he’s done since parting ways with Minnesota has me optimistic about his willingness to adapt and not be so stuck in his ways. Cautiously optimistic but still

We need to gut the entire roster outside of RJ, Frank, and Mitch.

This draft class stinks and I would honestly trade any pick that ends up coming our way + anyone outside of who I named above for a solidified star. I'm not sold on LaMelo at all.

From there we sign shooting. Maybe keep Bullock because I actually rock with him.

After so many years...the Knicks are really doing a full remodeling of the coaching staff and front office, with the exception of Perry who is pretty much just along for the ride.

It...it's looking up for us y'all

I don't fall for the Lavar finesse.

They better come correct with their draft selection or trade it.

no possible way on earth knicks woulda been able to draft mpj who would have to sit out a season and a half, when we already had kp sitting with a torn acl

wild how people spinning that whole situation now

I like him a lot but this would mean we’d have 3 complete non shooters on the floor at all times with him RJ and Mitch

add randle to that too brick city

    I'm liking Haliburton

I feel like LaMelo has the raw talent to be a star in the league, but the shooting form is a no-no for me. I wouldn't be upset if we draft him tho.

Isn't Leon Rose his agent or was at one point? I know he really wants to draft him

just been wild to see so many killing us for not drafting him, like we was NOT the only team to pass on this dude, that back issue was scary at the time. we just weren’t in that position to take the risk
