im not a big fan of Kpop but super shy hard

So I've checked out 13 tracks from these gals and I like 11 of them, which is very impressive for me. The tracks I've replayed the most so far are Cool With You, Hype Boy, Super Shy, Zero. The only tracks that don't really "tickle my fancy" are ASAP and Get Up. Those two were boring to me, but everything else has been enjoyable and good vibes.

The fanfare this EP is getting is more or less a sign of just how f***ing dog s*** K-pop is musically. Like half of these songs are muzak inspired by 2013 deep house singles

I mean I guess but homogenizing isn’t strictly a good thing. Korean pop is better off having a distinct sound rather than confirming to whatever the predominant sound is in the west.

If you’re gonna “change or try new things” then really do that. Don’t just make western music. I don’t consider that trying something new.

Groups like Blackpink and KARD never made good music trying to appeal to the west. They’re trash. Newjeans is one of the few groups doing it right

But I still hope we still have plenty of more traditional kpop groups making waves in the near future.
