What are your other experiences with his work?
Drive which I liked very much. Neon demon which I did not enjoy

I'd say get familiar with Only God Forgives first before you dive in to the deep. It's 90 minutes long and encapsulates his current style in every way. From the look, to the music, to the glacial slow camera pans and silent characters. If you get out of OGF liking it, then you'll like his two miniseries as well. If it bores you to death and you can't connect with it. Then you'll probably can't get through the series either
From my experience the people who love Drive prefer something more accessible. I think it's good but overrated, but that's because i'm on the other side of the coin in terms of what i like about his films

Nah i don't get why people say that. I've been hearing this ever since CC dropped but i feel like CC feels much slower than TOTDY
TOTDY could have been 20 episodes and i would have ate it up.. i really liked it first time around but a recent rewatch solidified it as my fav series of all time next to Twin Peaks The Return
Every second of TOTDY felt iconic to me

Damn, all time!
Yeah I need to rewatch fully. Did the first episode a few weeks back. But it really takes its time.
That episode where teller is on the road… f***ing amazing.

Damn okay. Gonna rewatch after CC then. You just got me hype
And yeah, that chase scene was unreal.
As well as the disco drive by. Something about that has stuck with me FOREVER.

The ten commandments song? Yeah that scene has a really surreal quality to it
But tbh i feel that way about almost every second of it
It's literally perfect to me
First two episodes are gripping af
I feel like it’s good storytelling
But I don’t quite know why it’s good storytelling yet
Probably has something to do with the world building
NWR is an underrated world builder
I can’t get into this it just feels like NWR has his head up his own ass like all the other stuff he makes.
this is in fact classic, the trailer undersold how interesting the story itself would be, maybe by design
this didn’t feel like refn trope heavy, more so real refined in his style, this is a top 3 work of his for me
Finished the first two episodes last night. Starting 3 now.. I’m f***in wit it so far. Imagery is great.
When the girls helped Miu poke up ol boy
The scene with the baby being delivered
Halfway through episode 3 or 4 I sat back and said… “holy s***. This is his superhero take…”
I f***ing loved this

s*** is hard
Mads is in his prime…refn is in a zone would be criminal if they don’t link for something soon
f*** man. I loved this so much lmfao.
I'm so happy refn went supernatural. it's like all of my dreams come true man.
