Wait is bro f***in his moms or nah! Because the incest vibes are heavy
Northman did it
Just binged it, was tight but honestly felt a little rushed to me. A couple more eps to extend some of the story aspects would've been nice. Only the Chinese part felt complete, but with them setting up a sequel it's to be expected I guess.
TOTDY >>>
The cameo though
I really liked this and liked way the story progressed. This was easily better than TOTDY for me. Only criticism is have is that the fight scenes could have been better

yeah fight scenes a bit fluffy
Yeah I'm half way through and have been very engaged the whole time. TOTDY did not have the same effect.

Characters in this have more depth to them than totdy imo

TOTDY reigns supreme
You need to rewatch it at some point
Felt like soooo much more happened in TOTDY but i loved this as well
But man, TOTDY world was just special haven't felt about another show like that since Twin Peaks
edit: did not expect you to like this tbh would have put all my chips on you hating this and thinking it's a hollow story with NWR playing into his fetishes way too much

I'd disagree on this as well
Except for the fact that there's this supernatural element that's present in CC. But even then it's all building up to a sequel that will most likely never get made
Like i literally gave CC a 5/5 on the boxd but aside from Miu and Nicklas i primarily loved this for the aesthetics
With TOTDY i LOVED the characters. Everybody from Martin, to Viggo to Jesus & Yaritza. It was perfect to me and i will always be that shows number 1 fan

what makes you think a sequel won't get made?
netflix did a horrible job promoting CC but from what I've seen most people are liking it. six episodes makes it a quick watch and the supernatural element makes it more appealing to your average viewer
I bet netflix will give NWR another season to encourage other arthouse directors to work with them

What makes me think that is the fact that even succesful Netflix series all get cancelled and the fact that the only other miniseries NWR did never got continued either despite it arguably being his most acclaimed work since Drive
edit: also barely anybody talks about Copenhagen Cowboy, not even online

hope you're wrong. CC is easily the best show I've seen on netflix, would be a big mistake to not renew, tho the lack of promotion doesn't look good
haven't watched TOTDY since it came out, but I thought it tied up all the loose ends by the end and wasn't trying for a second season. also feel like that series was a bit too long for most people and NWR learned from that and made CC more concise
would love to see a second season cause the characters are so great, but if not I hope NWR signs a 3 season deal with HBO or something, I think TV shows suit him really well

You're right on TOTDY, it did feel more complete than CC so far. But i'm just going off the facts that we have right now and not setting myself up for disappointment
of course it's no telling and everything is possible
I also feel like NWR + the miniseries format is goated

He’s being a bit pessimistic Netflix doesn’t treat auteurs the same as these high budget shows they gotta make financial calls on, finicher has carte blache at Netflix despite probably costing them more than he’s made them, same time who knows if refn really intends to do another installment of this
Been staying out of this thread coz didn’t wana see any spoilers but finished it last night
Loved it, but I felt slightly disappointed. I’m a massive Refn fan so maybe I had too high of expectations, but felt like it it wasn’t extreme as TOTDY (just read through the thread and I agree it didn’t have as slow a pace and all those awkward silences (which I love), also felt it could have been more graphically violent) - but I still did love it that’s just me being super critical.
Ngl, I got stuck on episode 3.
I don’t know if I care much for the episodic narrative.
I don’t like Dragon Palace as much as the w****house from the first two episodes.
I don’t know if I care much for the protagonist.
Gotta keep watching.
