Chase is 90% most likely the pick irl but in my world, I’m considering the Bengals OL hit rate which has been dreadful (not counting Jonah who barely fell to them) so do I trust them to make the right pick at OL in the 2nd round if they indeed pick Chase at 5?

Their WR hit rate has been much stronger, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd were both drafted in the 2nd round. and Terrence Marshall could fall to us like Tee did and he still has that Joe Burrow connection.

Also considering the fact that the Bengals will always be priced out on the market when it comes to free agent OL despite them targeting it in FA the last 2 years so honestly it’s not like we can wait for the next good tackle to become an free agent. If you have your opportunity to get your guy, you do it now.

and if I’m being honest, it’s more likely we trade down and draft Slater because he’d be a better fit at guard right away and that’s by far the weakest position on the OL now

I wouldn’t agree with the logic but at the same time playing Sewell at guard would be pretty dumb so might as well get the draft capital
