Too many turnovers and Mahomes snatched it, he’s just playing better than Russ no matter how you slice it.

Well the whole thing this season is to ā€œLet Russ Cookā€, so they gave him the keys.

Mahomes doesn’t have a great defense by any means and is taking the best shot from every team each week. Still look at what he’s doing.

Agreed. But can’t say he’s not in the running for coach of the year anymore

It does for me and I’ll tell you why. I’m not saying the dude can’t coach. He’s had this team playing hard since the end of last season and that warrants consideration but this decision now brings into question for me what role he played exactly in not only starting Tua but drafting him. Remember, the rumor was that y’all actually wanted Burrow more than Tua and was willing to give up picks to move up and take him but obviously, Cincy was dead set on Burrow. There was also rumors that you may like Herbert a bit more but ultimately, you picked Tua and obviously, draft day rumors should always be taken with a grain of salt. However, I’m now questioning what role Flores played in this decision because something about this s*** don’t smell right. When those rumors started circulating after the first game about this being some sort of audition, I called BS but now I’m questioning who in this organization wanted Tua and who didn’t because as good as Burrow has played this year, he’s had games early on where he struggled and they never benched him. Herbert has lit it up in nearly every game he has played but he’s missed throws and taken sacks. There were moments this year they could have easily said hey, Tyrod gives us the best chance to win in THIS situation. They never benched him. So why Tua? Something don’t smell right. Credit him for having this defense playing well but something about this s*** ain’t adding up to me

Flores, being from the Belichick tree, is a believer of holding players accountable regardless of their status on the team, draft position, or any other factor. If a player isn't performing they get benched. It shows that no player is above another and that everyone is held accountable. Belichick benched his team's best corner in a superbowl, you think Flores won't bench his rookie QB who's getting lit up and playing like s*** in a regular season game?

And beli was criticized for that decision and rightfully so because if I recall correctly, they ended up losing that game and to this day, I don’t think any logical explanation was ever given as to why he decided to bench his best corner THE DAY OF the super bowl. Didn’t look too smart then and it don’t look too smart now.

Herbert was a smokescreen. And I think you’re overthinking all this lol

Tua was off yesterday, I don’t think he was getting help from o line and receivers (not named parker) but his accuracy was off and there were times he held on to the ball too long

Herbert has never looked as bad as Tua did yesterday and Fitz is better than tygod and won 3 games with Flores, which is why he came in for the rookie and Tyrod hasn’t.
Flores loves Tua, your point of Flores maybe not wanting to draft Tua doesn’t really make sense since Flores benched Fitzmagic in a situation where I don’t think many coaches would’ve made that same decision. Based off of everything we saw last off season I actually think Flores is more involved than people think lol especially with taking Tua over Herbert. (But this would be an entirely different convo than what we’re having right now)

Flores made a bad decision yesterday no doubt, but I don’t think it was anything more than benching Tua for having an off game and believing in Fitz to win them the game in a tough road game

But see that’s my point, I don’t know if flores is the one making these decisions because you’re right, if Flores didn’t like Tua, it would make no sense for him to then bench Fitz to put him in but he did bench Fitz to put him in and it still made zero sense haha and now this decision makes that decision make even less sense lmao so in my opinion, you have to at least question whether or not the rumors were true and who exactly is making these decisions because the more I think about it, the more it seems like it ain’t just flores.

Well no obviously Flores isn’t the only one making these decisions lol Grier is involved too but that doesn’t mean Flores didn’t want Tua, he just went with the veteran in a tough road environment of a close game over a rookie who’s struggling, I don’t agree with his decision at all but I do think he’s still coach of the year.

  • Nov 23, 2020

It was really nothing more than ā€œTua is struggling today and I think Fitz gives us a better chance to win this game after what I’ve seen from Tua todayā€ mindset from Flores when he benched Tua

  • Nov 23, 2020

First take said we goin 5-1 to finish the season and wentz get benched next week

It’s Tua’s first game in Denver I’ll give him a pass. Being from Hawaii and played in the SEC now Miami....it might’ve been his first cold weather game and dealing with that altitude
