Absolutely no need to be putting this much energy into arguments on the internet homie

i'm not here to argue. posters were nice enough the first 5 pages explaining it but were still mocked

i'm here to laugh at the lack of competence in this domain from the anime avy anti NFT defense squad

innovation is great but not at the cost of our environment and of our culture. There is no need to destroy existing paintings or artwork. Whats the point of technological progress if there might not even be a healthy future? Where is the progress if it means moral, ethnic and possible artistic regression. Art might get destroyed, peoples art is being stolen and soled as NFTs.

How are NFTs a good thing?

There are no benefits. Nobody wins, except dudebros who can jerk off to the idea of owning something (which they dont lmao).

Digital artist dont profit from it. Yes some are getting paid in crypto, but a s*** ton of artist are getting their stuff stolen.

That's why the technology is still being inovated so it doesnt have much of an ecological toll, proof of stake.

But even then, mining and nft minting leaves less of a footprint than that of paper currency so the moral argument isn't really there. As it's probably more moral to invest more in technology than not.

And the whole destroying artwork is some s*** that can happen today with physical artworks. There's many pieces of art that have been lost before nfts were a thing so that's not even a sound argument against nfts either.

we should halt the production of electric cars, you know how much money capitalist money hungry pigs like elon musk are making? the environmental impact of these car factories and the e waste that will come from these batteries? we already have perfectly fine cars on the road, we dont need to innovate furthur, not at the cost of our environment.

see how stupid that sounds when you apply your arguement to literally any other piece on innovation?

before netflix existed there was physical media, should have we stopped netflix from creating millions of energy hungry servers from destroying our environment? the cognitive dissonance is insane here, all because you cant process the benefits of the technology right away, when in fact itll be the innovation that will effect our entire financial infastructure and how we interact with money the most

yes, they are working on it but as of right now, its pretty bad. And i havent found anything on how cryptocurrency is better for the environment than paper currency. None of the supposed problems NFTs are trying to solve seem necessary to me, at least not in comparison to its costs. I do have a very anti-capitalist world view, so we might never be on common ground on cryptocurrency.
