I have many useful connections that are useless
A lot of New York artists in the underground are selfish or more catered to popularity more than actual talent
So even where I shine, it’s literally not enough to make something of myself for where I’m not a representation of the city I live in
Just realized you said you have "useful connections that are useless"
Think, create, and strive towards bigger then where you are man.. Idk what else to say or what you want from anyone else... If you don't wanna work for anyone so bad why you not putting in the work to build your brand and name... I'm done..
People like to hype you and seem like they support you, even when investing into yourself and creating things that everyone can benefit from
But when it all comes down to it, none of that matters
I’ve spent almost ten years working on my talents, building connections and continually trying to work with people both online and irl
Literally up to spending my last investment into making an event for people that ghosted me when it was convenient for them
I made a thread with my last project

I have other music on my SoundCloud under a previous moniker
This has potential. U like vaporwave? Idk if these are sampled or if u play instruments but if u keep improving u can make something ppl will be rly into.
I don't have connects in music rn so all I can offer is advice but tbh u sound like ur in that vaporwave/instrumental sorta lane. If u wanna get rappers on ur beats u could probably go for the lyrical lane. The thing is as a producer u haaave to have rly good inspiration u gotta look outside hip hop cus that's what ppl who make the next level new wave s*** do
Just realized you said you have "useful connections that are useless"
They’re connections for the people they want to be, that’s not good
Even if talent comes into the picture, those connections would rather not have to pay for it or find somebody that they know can do it on the terms they want
Nobody progresses that way

This is recent, I deterred from making hip hop/rap because of reasons disclosed in this thread
I’ll link my earlier works

all of the beats I produced, unless it says otherwise
fam... you been going at it for years and years and this is your true passion.
you sacraficed so many things in your life and now that things are starting to look and down you are starting to doubt yourself you are ready to just give it all up ?
as soon as you feel like you can't make it anymore you want to just give up ? where was your passion when you first started ? where did all your motivation go ?
most producers and music artists dont get recognition until later in their lives. Jay Z and Kanye both released their debut at the age of 26.
Fam F*** what your brain is telling you and listen your heart. LIVE WITH NO REGRETS keep grinding and I guarantee you success will find it's way into your life.
REMEMBER THE VISION AND PASSION YOU HAD FOR WHEN YOU FIRST STARTED !
OP, how old are you?
Go out there, discover the world and you'll see there's plenty of opportunities.
Even if you don't want to work as an employee, there's enough room for innovation and enterpreneurs.
I’m 21 and I had to move back to staying with my mother because of my fathers passing in September last year
So my mobility is limited, especially without enough funds
Past few months have been difficult for me
We all afraid OP you just gotta keep swimming in spite of fear
feels like I’m just barely treading water at this point, and not by choice

You 21 bro ain’t nothing wrong with moving back with your mom and workin things out. You got time
feels like I’m just barely treading water at this point, and not by choice
Ur so young breh plz do something else. I know this sounds bad but it's not worth worrying about music so much. Everyone wants to make music these days even rly good artists struggle a lot it's not worth the stress.
Ppl will say I'm wrong but I've seen people's lives ruined because they burnt themselves out trying to be artists when they're just not good enough.
If u got cash go to school. Or get a job. U can still make music but temper ur expectations on being a super star or making it a career
The only people who truly have life figured out are the ones who are filled with gratitude and living a life they enjoy. Find and pursue that end goal, whatever that looks like for you

I hear what your saying bro, I really do
But even in that case, I’m not in it for recognition or anything
Being able to survive and profit off of a talent that you’ve been complimented on for so long without a physical form of support doesn’t help keep somebodies dream alive
I’ve been told that my music was trash or average before, and I’ve progressed since then, and I know I will always see progression
at a certain point, you get tired at having to try to prove your worth to people when you know your capable
The only people who truly have life figured out are the ones who are filled with gratitude and living a life they enjoy. Find and pursue that end goal, whatever that looks like for you
I believe that the way life should be lived isn’t even attainable in this society without having to partake in part of its toxic components
If that’s what separates me from the rest, then idk

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with that statement. What I will do though is highly recommend that you take 20mins each day to meditate

I think I’ve just been told so many times to get a job that even while making music at the hospital I worked at, the money didn’t do anything for me but keep me employed
Which was a trap in itself
Have you released anything yet?
If so, link.
If no, do that before you quit.

Are u rich
U realize ur making music for yourself not for others? That means u will not get paid for it. I wouldn't risk it. As u get older u will lose stamina and you'll really appreciate being financially stable
Tbh u don't wanna be homeless man and the way America is u can definitely end up there. Unless ur rich
