    horrible era

  • dove

I really chose one of the only songs of that era that mustard didn’t produce as my example but u know what i mean

Could've sworn "loyal" and that "Ayo" joint with Tyga are damn near the same production lol.

Then again, Tyga has been tryna remake Taste for a minute

It’s fascinating to watch his fans do the whole over the top praise/worship gimmick

Already can see the NFR Podcast xeet when that song with Clipse drops

Truly will never understand how it doesn’t get tired after some point

You niggas still pretending like Kendrick Stans are the only ones who do this lol

I like Kendrick but man, it's just so many factors that go into being the "King Of Rap" and I think some people just don't like how he just took that title and ran with it. It's like Kendrick won the beef and wants the crown, but he lets his PR team handle the politics that come with it(or just ignore them completely).

That's why some people don't f*** with him being on top, and probably why he won't hold the crown for long. He won the beef but he's too commercial and protected, I need to hear that Whips & Chains verse though lol.

All of the modern “kings” of rap were protected and had industry ties. And they got more commercial as hip hop did.

Kendrick’s spot is doubted because he can’t be sexualized. Will not elaborate

  • HBDUSA

    Look at this

if you stay off social media, not much has changed irl

Drake fans that never started listening to hip hop before 2012 rewriting the rules on what it means to have a “rap crown” so they dont understand a rapper having it that isnt a social media w**** and/or stays out the way.

Alotta yall woulda folded in the pre 50 cent days

Niggas saying Kendrick doesn’t have the it factor and then it factor is having funny interviews

They want him to posts memes and troll on IG to be considered the king

If Kendrick didn’t have the it factor to be the top dawg he wouldn’t have had the success he’s had since GKMC he would still be doing Section 80 numbers

    What about Lil Wayne

He was actually pretty sexualized in his prime, he helped make Locs super popular and hoes loved Wayne

It's funny cause Drake era existed for 10+ years and never felt like this cause the media has never championed him all together at once in a big push

You’re a Drake fan so ofcourse it never felt “forced” lol

    What about Lil Wayne

Top three most sexualized pure rapper in their prime along with Pac and 50. Funny enough these are by far the most blatantly imitated from any era

I won’t act like Kendrick hasn’t been getting a big push from collective “media” and UMG, but to act like Drake wasn’t the hip-pop industry darling and being obtuse about it is hilarious

He’s the poster child of getting pushed by labels and media.

They gave that nigga almost half a Billy lol and his fans were acting like it was a gift not an investment. I never respected the “bigger than MJ” claim not when you breaking these records from steaming

I don’t really see it as a Kendrick era, the whole game is just so weak right now he just doesn’t have any real competition

I think Carti is kinda up there with him though, Music was decent, but if he dropped a classic I would say it probably would’ve been more of a Carti era cause he has more influence
