This isn’t even true some of the first lyrics are “Father forgive me, I’m scared of the karma”. Clearly showing his actions before were NOT okay

    I think you’re missing what I’m saying
It’s not really inherently problematic wht he’s saying but at the end of the day it’s a dude saying “I used to view women as objects and be misogynistic but now I don’t because of my daughter”

That’s not a women empowerment message
That’s a guy admitting he was wrong

Violent crimes isn’t a particularly good message lol

It’s saying that its ok to treat women as objects and be misogynistic and only realize that women are actually people when you have daughters

It’s a fine song but it shouldn’t be held up as some great example of women empowerment

what? how come 5 ppl liked this

he is saying once he he had a daughter he came to that realisation , nowhere its said misoginy is ok

Yeah but you said it’s “saying that its ok to treat women as objects and be misogynistic” when it is not saying it is ok to do that

what do you mean? It’s an extremely personal song about the way he views women and about his feelings towards his daughters

The fact that he had it almost entirely written for him is definitely strange

having someone else write it for him doesn’t mean he didn’t have any input in it is where im getting at

they mostly likely despite what ye tweets brainstormed about the song the concept and theme of lyrics and what to throw in and change and validates it

it’s not like ye got sent a song never read the lyrics and recorded it eyes closed

Yeah but you said it’s “saying that its ok to treat women as objects and be misogynistic” when it is not saying it is ok to do that

yea because the song frames the entire shift in his mindset towards women as stemming from him having a daughter
I don’t mean that it’s outright saying it’s ok to be misogynistic but it’s saying that it’s ok to only realize these things once you have a daughter

idk man that’s just a different strokes thing I guess
It’s weird to me when personal verses like that aren’t 99% the words of the person saying them

Bruh him saying he’s scared of the karma implies that he knows he f***ed up and his actions were wrong and that it’s not okay. Saying it’s not worthy of praise is one argument and I agree but saying that the song says it’s ok to do what he did is just not correct

Writers that write a lot for certain people write from the perspective of the artist theyre writing for.

Its pretty normal & you'd be how many personal very specific songs outside of Rap that was written by someone else outside of the vocalist.

They been around the artist for so long & talk to them about everything personal about them & write from there.

Also similar to autobiographies that arent written by the literal person its about.

I dont think its strange imo, & the artist can still have final input & such.

that’s weird to me regardless of if it’s super common

autobiographies are kinda a different beast cause I can get how someone in x field isn’t equipped to write a novel
But if you write your own music at times it’s weird to me to get someone else to do it when it’s something deeply personal

He's speaking from his own experience, but I never got the vibe that he was saying his experience was ideal or praiseworthy. At most, he says that realization is something that can/does happen for men after having a daughter.

i could be wrong tho for all i know it’s all cyhi made up of the concept lyrics everything and ye didn’t have input, if so then yeah that’s a whole other level of weirdness layer to it

yea that’s what I was tryna get across I guess

It’s like a realization that you’ve been awful to women lol like it’s a really weird example to throw out as women empowerment especially when he then goes on to say he hoped north does piano instead of yoga so she doesn’t get sexually harassed lol
